If GV can rate wines on a 100 point scale I can rate these shows on the same scale. This episode was most notable for GV referring to himself in the third person, and calling Robert Parker ‘Bob’. ‘Tough to argue with Bob there.’

    Gary,
Wow, how your palate has changed! Now you can’t get enough of the green/vegetable wines (#2). After watching a lot of your more recent episodes and seeing this one where you discuss ratings, how do you choose which rating to use? You always reference one source. Obviously a wine that Parker has rated has also likely been rated by Spectator or Enthusiast, so which one do you choose? The highest? The most respectable in your eyes? Just wondering. Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to see you evolve and get more animated like the Gary V I know.

zipping through the wines….have had and visted Arrowwood, they make some very good wines, none of the others. Favorite value Cab, Louis Martini Napa Valley, delivers each yr and under $20 bones. http://www.winelx.com

  • Ratings are ok, but isn't the “truth”, it's all very subjective. People shouldn't listen only to Parker or whoever… GV on a roll here……..

GV do you ever go back and watch an old episode? Must be huge fun for yourself…. ; )

5 wines in under 10 min. WOW

  • I think the more you get into wine, the more you realize that everyone’s palette is different, and an amazing bottle to you is the worst flavored water someone else has ever tasted.

My biggest surprise recently was having a wine I loved just 3 months ago and I had it again last week and it was really underwhelming, massive vanilla, that’s all you could taste and smell. After the first time I had it, I noticed many critics were raving about it so I was happy to think my palate was on par with some critics, but the second time I had it, everyone who was there did not like it, so this brings me to a question, at what point do you recognize that a certain bottle could be off instead of saying the wine is no good period?

Whats up GV? Still no decanter? but i do have to say this episode did bring thunder. I just brought in Stolpman to my job and will holding the current release for a while till i taste.

All i have to say is that this IS the Gary V that i know, totally dismantling what the critics have to say!
