Hey Gary

I'm enjoying re-watching these earlier episodes. I'm getting the impression that you're noit quite as negative about Barossa Shiraz :)

Cheers

I've had the lucky country in the past - good 87+ point wines. Haven't had the other to compare.

Nice review. I liked the description of the wines. Now I know that I need to steer clear of the Lucky Country.

The Kuleto is now sold out, but I did like the Lucky Country. I decanted this wine and I believe that makes a big difference on this wine. The Shiraz brings the fruit and spice. The Cabernet brings a nice tannic structure and some dark berry fruit as well. Decent mid palate and lengthy finish as well. There’s some oak, some savory aspects, a well-rounded wine all in all. I would probably pay more for this wine. This is also one of the few screwtop reds that I've tried.

Gary

I will tell you in a few years if my magnum of Alice White with the green label is truely great wine. The blend shiraz/cabernet sauvignon is a miracle wine. Why did the french never discover this combination. Are there any good blends of tempranillo / shiraz?

It's also screw top vs. cork!
Almost tried to stop at Kuleto last weekend, but figured you probably need a reservation to do anything so I didn't.
