Sorry Gary V but the thunder is not there for me as far as Chilean Pinot Noir! Ive had about 6 or 7 different ones and at best have been serviceable but NEVER amazing. I just cant find many Chilean wines that deliver thunder for me they are mostly a total miss!

Had a Pinot blind tasing with friends a couple weeks ago, a new Zealand, a Spanish, a 2005 cote de Beaune 1er cru, an Oregon and a chilean and the only one that was unanimously voted out was the chilean. I guess I have to try more of them to find a good one.
Little question if anyone is reading, the was bigtime deception on my part from the 2005 burgundy which was an exceptionnal vintage, we put it up to the idea that the wine was not ready to be drunk, but were we just giving too much credit to that burgundy?

Well it's 2009 and I have tried some of the Chilian Pinots that you have recommended and did not enjoy them as much as you did, not much thunder. I have had many very good Cali Pinots under $20, MacMurray, Thumbprint, LaFond, Erath. www.winelx.com

Interesting show Gary, Chilean pinot's. Don;t think I've had one, I usually look for carmenere's when I buy Chilean wines. I'll have to check that out, thanks. Still seems under the radar now in '09, hopefully enough so that I can find it close to that bargain price still.
But thanks for bringing to my attention I wouldn't have thought to seek out before.
Keeping in that tradition, would love to see a tasting on charbono, or vin jaune's.
