most embarrassing is not bad at all but i opened up a wine for a tasting that was supposed to be the bees-knees and it totally blew! man i looked stupid! i opened a second cause i thought maybe its the bottle, but it wasn’t!!!!

QOTD: I don't know if this is funny or just embarassing. I was at a Moet-Henessey tasting in St. Loius. I was there tasting for my job as a buyer and I brought my ex-girlfriend. She got drunk pretty quickly and when we went to the Krug champagne table she couldn't hold her glass still enough to get a pour. The guy from Krug ended up pouring his $200+ champagne all over the table. He was pretty nice about it though.

I think Cakebread, Jordan are very overrated, had a 2000 Stags Leap Cask 23 and it was awesome, one thing that Gary does not mention enough is that even the best wine name can have a bad yr due to growing conditions etc. QOTD-went to a Caldwell wine tasting dinner and had great wine and food, made friends, invited them back to home and my girlfriend..now ex decided to open a mag of Insignia that had 5-10 yrs to go before we should of opened it and these new friends (not for long) did not like it (maybe because they had never tasted a bottle worth more than $10 and it was too young to drink) and asked us to open something esle.. www.winelx.com

Man I hate having to leave a 3rd comment on 1 episode, but I just noticed the comment by Davivcanada. He had the Cask 23 97 vintage as well and loved it. I recommend you try that 1 Gary.
