Ahhh.. so now I know why there was so much traffic on the upper west side this morning… It was Gary with his 1 truck full of furniture followed by 7 trucks of wine..

good luck on that garyv….i just bought a small house…so i am moving as well….albeit only one pick-up truck load at a time….good thing i own no furniture and i am broke…makes it much easier. i think my wine was the hardest thing to move….on 50 bottles, but still a pain in the ass….i am sure you have a hell of a cellar….how do you move all of it?

nice… 100 degrees outside, + however hot it gets ina moving truck… that’ll take a quick toll on the vino. If you need any help drinking it don’t hesistate to give a shout out. I’ll be in Jersey this coming week.

Good luck with the move. I love the episodes and honest approach.

Since you mentioned 12 trucks of wine…Where do you store your wine in NYC?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

The Landlord said this morning to me
    Give me your key
    This day’s rent free
I can’t live on nothing you see
So get on the road and skidoo. You.

Come and get me Mr. Landlord Man!
Cruise by Mom, and take me by the hand!
I’ll be going back to Dixie land, this Morning!

    Because it’s

    Because it’s

If you can’t pay the rent
Got to live out in a tent
    Because it’s

    Gary,

I’m moving this week too. The house I’m in now has an actual underground cellar, so I’m leaving the wine (~200 bottles) there until the last minute. It was 115 degrees here (Nor Cal) last week, so I’m in no hurry to expose the wine to that. Since the new house doesn’t have a cellar, I’ve purchased a wine frig. Only holds a hundred bottles, so I guess the rest will end up in a closet somewhere.

Good luck with the move. We’d love to see your wine collection, so post a few photos!

    Hey Gary,
I hope all is going great with your move. I have moved over 30 times and lived on both coasts and in another country. So I do understand, really I do!

Just opened a new bottle of Sebastiani 2005 Chardonnay, Dutton Ranch UnOoaked. Went from the fermentation tanks straight to the bottle. It’s actually very very tasty. The green apple is prominant for me, with hints of pear. I didn’t taste the lemon that the tasting notes from the winery says is there. This is such a great summer wine, highly recommended.

Why into another apartment and not into a house with a massive wine cellar? My basement is slowly becoming a wine cellar as we speak. It stays nice and cool down there.

I hate moving, and I would normally feel very sympathetic but, you are moving into a New York apartment. Life ain’t that bad! Plus I bet you pop’d a pretty good bottle when it was finished. Or drank beer.

I understand how that is, I’ve moved 14 times in my 28 years.
While i’m commenting, a charbono or vin jaune episode/tasting would be killer.

It’s great that you can leave comments still when you leave these messages lol.
I’ll use it to request a vin jaune episode please. Or one on tasting charbono’s
