Never really got into italian wines, mostly because I'm not a fan of Sangiovese, I know Brunellos are hot but I've had a few and never been impressed, but I never had one that was ages more than 7 yrs so maybe that's why....
Had some nebbiolos recently and I liked some but they were your basic Langhe at a reasonnable price, had a Barolo 2 days ago though and it was awfull especially for 50%, and it was a 2004 which is supposed to be great...

My best experience with an italian wine was the 2008 Podere Sapaio Volpolo, I know its a super tuscan so not a real italian but it was exceptionnal and only 23$.

I need to explore more italian wines but until I have that one bottle that captures my imagination, its not gonna happen.

Okay - so how bad is this - I'm going way back in time to some seriously old episodes. You probably don't care anymore but favorite Italian wine...hmmm....I'm thinking it's gotta be Uccelliera Brunello - 1999 or maybe 1997 Dei Montepulciano Nobile 1997. Shoot, then there was Negroamaro from Jaddico that didn't stink either.

BTW - huge Jets fan here. My jersey is so old, it has #88 on it (no name) and it was for Al Toon.

QOTD: My favorite Italian wines are white wines from the Campania region in Southwest Italy. Greco di Tufo and Falanghina are my favs.

QOTD: I had a good one, the 2006 Caldora Trebiano recently. And I had a really good Valipocella, but I can't remember the name of it.
