I got into wine because i did not know anything about it! i mean, i was a huge beer geek thanks to my brother in law and i was interested in learning about wine but didn't know where to start. I really wanted to learn about wine so i could be cool and order wine in a restaurant with my date and actually know what i was ordering. So i took a couple of college courses about the world of wine, worked at a International wine competition, picked up a job as a som. in the industry at the competition, and worked/learned there 4yrs and now run the wine department in a large wine store!

Gary you get a 93+

Got into wine for real 10 yrs ago in Spain where we drank wine every day at dinner then went to Bodega Muga and got hooked.

Most influencial person would actually be GV eventhough I've only been watching for a few months. I think that I found WLTV at the right time when I was trying a whole bunch of new things in wine and WLTV helpend me understand and cultivate that love for discovering new types of wine.

So much for being on Sports Center....the Di Majo has been hit or miss the times I tried it, will seek out the Renard., I have heard of it, Penfolds has some good value in the lower end reds. QOTD-no one person in beginning, just a gradual walk towards wine away from hard liquor as I got older, but since then WLTV has been a big influence. www.winelx.com

qotd: I work at a family owned restaurant, and that family pretty much did. They had a list of about 250 different wines when I started there. I knew nothing about wine, and fell in love with wine after working there and wine being so much a part of that place.

QOTD: On my first trip to France, I really started to like wine and got to enjoy my first reds (before that I found them too tannic and the like). My interest kept growing since 2003 and then in 2007, my mom showed me the article in Time about WLTV. Needless to say, ever since then I've been been a Vayniac. Your advice and knowledge has really gotten me into the wine world now. I'm focusing on wine for my French Master's degree! :)

Good episode - but I thought the Falesco was better than the DJ - both were good pizza wines in my opinion. The cola aspect of Falesco demands food - but it's still an 88+ wine.

Hey Gary - our first fight, does this mean we're in a serious relationship? ;)
