    Gary,
Your credibility is substantial when I compare your approach to another second generation young turk across the river who promotes the WS and its droppings for fun and profit. Must be a lot of fools in the market.
Also, just a reminder – keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Wednesday – What will I do? I am not sure if I will survive without WLTV.

WLTV is a fun diversion for me…Thanks, Gary. Sorry to have 2 minutes of this episode directed towards what did not need to be said. Anyway, the show is alot of fun and the WL is a great wine store with a fabulous staff.

I have had much fun in trying many of your suggestions and trying to broaden my palate. At times, we agree on wines, and then at other times we don’t…but isn’t that part of the mystery of wine…

Keep up the good work, have a great holiday, and looking forward to #100.

ps. I really like Silver Oak, but have not had the 2002 Alexander Valley…maybe your review will drop the price a few bucks…:)))

    Gary,

How on earth will your 100th ever top episode 96? I can’t wait to see what you got…

I LOVE WLTV!! I feel like “Skittles on ‘roids”! And Gary, you can come on “OUR BOARD” any time you want.(#28) Whatever revenue you may have lost by being honest, you will make up for by being honest. Does that make sense?
Thank you for saving me $$. I don’t have to try Silver Oak now, tho’ I thought about it; until this episode.
I don’t know what we’re all going to do until Wednesday. I know I’ll be celebrating Buckeyes and Bengals wins again this weekend.I guess I can celebrate for two or three days more.
    Looking forward to 100.
Wishing easy fasting to all whom this applies.

    Gol:
Episode #39 is my favorite. Watch Gary suffer as he searches desperately for water after tasting the BV Muscat!

Gary, You don’t need to explain yourself to those doubters out there! WE all know you’re being honest about your tastes on the wine, like a real wine lover does. Those people are probably 49ers fans…or fair-weather Rams/Colts fans.

Anyway, keep being honest, and keep letting those snooty high priced wineries know where they stand, good or bad. And most importantly, GO BEARS!!!

    See you next week,
    T

I think I somehow inadvertently started the hoopla by asking if folks were buying/trying more as a result of watching…but this is what’s great about this medium. It’s a 2-way street, and a community, so we can “talk amongst ourselves”. Anyway, the answer seems to be yes, we’re buying & trying more, and we have Gary to thank for that! Plus, “Smokey Garbage”, ‘Skittles on Steroids”… where else would we get such great band name suggestions?

big ups GV! The haters who question your integrity and motives haven’t been watching. Go back and see GV “pass” on some of his top selling wines. I’d say if anything that WLTV may have even hurt his sales as much as it has helped.

I mean check out the Robert Mondavi Jr. interview, he comes right out of the gate with the first bottle saying that the vintage was awkward, the bottle was tight and it’s not a screaming value. Classic!

I wouldn’t worry, he keeps it real.

GOL…favorite epsiode is either #18 because it is when I started watching and was kooked immediately or Edpisode #64 because I love seeing different cellars and how they are built, and that wine room is amazing!

GV great as always, nice candid respose…but anywho…

No WLTV for a few days, I guess its back to internet porn and people setting them selves on fire

Russ J – Comment 18 – I did not know who Joe Walton was maybe he is before my time, I am only 26…so I looked it up

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Walton

My fav. episode also was #69, I laughed my ass off at that, my personal opinion is that if someone took some sort of offense to that they need to lighten up, its WLTV, not CNN.

GV – could always get a WLTV employee to be your back-up and fill in while your gone, we will understand if he is not as awesome as you, every great QB needs a quality back up

Gary, As you know from my multiple comments defending you on Ep 96, I understand exactly what your philosophy is. I am ecstatic that you chose to address the issue and put it to bed….which you clearly did. Enjoy the weekend and Holiday. Good Luck w/ #100!!!

    I’m sold…Not that I really needed to be….I’m sorry I ever questioned you. ;-)
Glad to see your zooming and posting the labels up there.

Where’s the Green Screen? I’m waitng for the floating head, no body episode of WLTV.

Forest Glen? Cmon…I’ve never had an even OK bottle of it.

Gary…I knew it!!!! I have not had a good Silver Oak in the 2000’s, and believe me I’ve had plenty!
Still have plenty of 90’s in the cellar though!

I’M GETTING THE SHAKES…MUST…..HAVE….WLTV. sheesh what the heck am I gonna do for 7 days.
I guess I’ll go get Kastner’s RSS feed done :-)

Great Sign off on the Sam Zen comment from episode #96 Comment #130…CLASSIC

Another great epsiode, have a great trip!

To answer my own question, my favorite episode is #69… if you haven’t seen it you’re really missing out :-)

I have to get my video cam and my Joe Walton costume ready! E-mail me if you want to hear my Joe Walton story, Gary.

And great episode with a good, cogent, and earnest statement of purpose at the beginning. You know from the comments that there is a whole crew out there that has your back. Chris Stan put the smackdown on a guy a couple of ep’s ago and he backed off the attack talk. Now we all just get along…..
    Looking forward to #100!

A little buildup for episode 100… I like it (as long as #101 comes the next day so we get our fix! :-) !

Seriously, great job on the first #99 episodes. Let me throw this out as commentary to your spirited opening in this episode. WLTV is better than weeknight TV (but not as good as DA BEARS), it has no commercials, it is extremely entertaining and informative. GV’s honesty and enthusiasm for wine (and, really, life) shines through on every episode. The show has evolved tremendously over the first 99 episodes and like a good democracy continues to evolve (insert political joke here) with continued creativity by its producers and constructive feedback from its followers. What else can a viewer ask for? I fear the day that for some reason WLTV stops. WLTV forever!

QOD for the bloggers – What is your favorite WLTV episode of the first #99? This question will allow everyone to go back and view some oldies-but-goodies as we wait for #100. Also a good way to get familiar with Chris S’s spreadsheet (Chris and GV, I love that there is a direct link within the sheet to each episode, that was sorely needed as an alternative to paging through webpages to find oldies)

Quick suggestion – Make the labels as big as possible for the 5 secs they are on the screen, as long as they don’t get in the way of GV’s mug

Gary….way to give your buddy the Stallion a shout out!!….LOL

GV, don’t worry about the doubters. To be honest I don’t always agree with your taste and I think your scoring is influenced by your mood. It’s fun to say what was Gary thinking or boy was he on with that mango reference. That’s the beauty of this medium and your performances – the entertainment of your experiences tasting wine and the passion with which you convey it.

Because of your show I stopped by your store, because of the attention to detail in presentation, great prices and knowledgeable service of the shop staff I’ll be in again to pickup a mixed case (including my Droin and funnel).

    Remember, you can’t tarnish integrity.
