    howabout these:

    VaynerSNOBS…VaynerGEEKS….VaynerDRUNKS….jk

Tony…Really? I didn’t think it was wierd, it follows the term oenophile, so I thought it would be a great fit. I personally don’t think VaynerCRAT is all that bad either. I kinda like the terms that make people say…”What the heck is that?”

    Thoughts, Comments?

I’m thinking the T-shirt looks somthing like this…

All the Vaynerisms in smaller type leading up to the vaynerWHATEVERITSCALLED in bigget font size.
Then on the back we put something like….Have you been VaynerchukED today?

Oh man….I’m taking this WAAAY to far.

That didn’t come out formatted well!

    OK…
    Episode: 9
    Date: Mar 7
Wine: 2003 Hess Select Cab Sauv
    Vaynerism: Clank(4)
    Location: .65

  7. September 29, 2006

    Tony

SS Chris, here’s the format that I’m collecting info in:

Episode Date Wine Vaynerism Location in Ep
    9 7-Mar 2003 Hess Select Cab Sauv Clank(4) 0.65

The need to approximate location in the episode as a time marker. I’m putting it as a fraction of the whole episode, so .65 equals about 65% of the way through the episode. I just guessimate off the marker in the Quicktime player.

BTW, that Hess Select was the first Vaynerclank and first VaynerCRACK (where he cracks his knuckles when he’s about to pan a wine), and the second VaynerSMACK (where he thoughtfully smacks his lips – usually not approvingly – several times). I’m open to suggestions on the naming of the VaynerCRACK.

We also need to have some consistency in naming and definitions of Vaynerisms, just so that we don’t have a name for every little thing Gary does. This is weird and creepy enough without getting too obsessive. Gary’s a very expressive guy, and we should try to limit it to unusual, entertaining and unique expressions that Gary displays when tasting wines.

I’ll post a starter list of suggested Vaynerisms later.

I second a big pazzzzzzzzz on Vaynerphile.

  9. September 29, 2006

    Tony

I don’t like Vaynerphile. That’s just a bit too culty and weird. Personally, I think Vaynerhead is better – and I HATE that. I have to give Vaynerphile a big pazzzzz.

I think we need more heads (no pun intended) to come up with more options. I’m not good with naming, so though I wish I could come up with something, it’s unlikely it would be any good.

VaynerADDICT is probably the most descriptive for all of us going into withdrawls.

BTW, great treatment for withdrawl symptions: go back and watch the older episodes. I’ve been going through them from the beginning today, and it’s just exactly like getting a bunch of new episodes. The first episode I ever watched was #8, and I’ve seen them all at least once, but it’s been so long for so many of them that it’s like watching them for the first time now. Guaranteed to relieve withdrawl symptoms.

TONY, that’s great. If you can keep a running list of the Vaynerism’s from everybody, and send me that list from time to time, I will update the WEB SS (you still have my email address..right?). I will add it as the first word in the “Tasting Notes”. This is AWESOME!!

Hold on, I’ll be right back….

OK, I just went in and updated the SS: Ep #1 w/ the VAYNERGLUG and Ep #63 w/ VAYNERCLANK(3).

Do you ask what the 3 in parentheses is? I went back an looked at Ep #63. This particular VAYNERCLANK is made up of a 3-CLANK (3 teeth chops), so I added the 3…for the CLANK I will add the number after…kind of like rating Hurricanes (i.e. Category 5) or Richter scale.

Let’s call it the CLANKMETER. So this one scored a 3 on the CLANKMETER!

Whomever discovers a CLANK, please provide TONY with: Episode #, Wine Name, & CLANKMETER #

So, the TASK for ALL VAYNERPHILES: go find all Vaynerism’s and report back to Tony!!!!!!!

  11. September 29, 2006

    SS Chris

It looks like Vaneophile is the winner.

I would like to nominate a slight, but I feel, important TWEAK to that….how ’bout VaynerPHILE?

I suggest that it REQUIRES the “Vayner” as the prefix…more in line w/the others: VaynerNOD, VaynerCLANK,etc. etc. You can’t eliminate the “R”.

We’re all VaynerPHILE’s…..what do you think??? VOTE AWAY!!!!

  12. September 29, 2006

    Tony

First Vaynerism of all time was in episode #1 (yep, I’m starting at the beginning). 2001 Verite Le Desir: A solid Vaynerglug about 3/4 the way into the ep.

  13. September 29, 2006

    Tampa Steve

    VanderClassic-VanerClassic….haven’t had my wine yet…lolol

Only 2 hrs to go….time to start the decant!

  14. September 29, 2006

    Tony

I accept the nomination. It may take me a little while to compile all the Vaynerisms, but I’ll try to make some time to work on it this weekend!

    Thanks guys!

  15. September 29, 2006

    Tampa Steve

    It’s a VanderClassic move.

  16. September 29, 2006

    Brandon M

    Ah…yes…that I saw

  17. September 29, 2006

    Tampa Steve

Brandon, SSChris posted this explanation yesterday:
#3-The VaynerCLANK (this ususally comes after a VaynerSHAKE–the SHAKE happens before he spits, and then after he spits, he CLANKS his teeth together multiple times–this means he REEEALLY doesn’t approve–watch #99 again with the SILVER OAK and you’ll see a mini-CLANK)

  18. September 29, 2006

    MarcT

BrandonM…it is the knock of his teeth after he spits a “pass wine”

Vayneophiles gets my vote!!! That is perfect…now lets see how many people know how to pronounce “oenophile”
1st poster to spell it phonetically wins!

  19. September 29, 2006

    Brandon M

Everyone…maybe I missed it, but whats the VaynerCLANK?
I’ve watched the episodes that everone is talking about and I’m not seeing it…please explain.

    Brandon M

I second the nomination for Tony….can anyone say spread sheet #2?

  21. September 29, 2006

    SS Chris

TONY, Thanks for compiling…I nominate you to be in charge of keeping a running list (with the episode# & wine in parentheses as you did). You should post it on a semi-regular basis for all of us regulars AND to bring the newbies up to speed. What do you say?

I like your name change….I didn’t luv VaynerEHH…VaynerSHRUG is much better

    You forgot MaryS’s VaynerSCOWL!!

  22. September 29, 2006

    SS Chris

BM, Not bad..I like them both.

Also, what about VAYNOCRATS (like Aristocrats–have you seen that movie on the Artisocrat Joke?)

Maybe some of our FAR RIGHT viewers think that is too close to DEMOCRATs to be comfortable. LOL

I still like VaynerHEADS…I know it’s a rip-off, but purposely so, DEADHEADS, PARROTHEADS…I think that we WLTV addicts fit right in that progression.

But, it up to EVERYONE. CAST your vote or suggest another name

  23. September 29, 2006

    Brandon M

While I think VaynerHEADS sounds OK…it feels like a rip off to me. Lets come up with something original.

VaynOISSEURS (Like Connoisseur)…I like this one cause it’s original but you got to be one to know one!

    VayneOPHILE

But we definitly need one…and I’ll put the T-Shirts together once we settle on one.
Maybe Gary can make the final call.

    B

  24. September 29, 2006

    Tony

    OK, we’ve got the
Vayner-NOD (which personally I think includes the Vayner-BOB) (many examples)
    Vayner-CLANK (Ep #63: last wine)
Vayner-SHRUG (which I formerly referred to as the “Vayner-EHH”) (Ep #38: Franciscan Cab, and others)
    Vayner-GLUG (Example?)
Vayner-YIP (Ep #32: after Gary drinks the Liberty School Cab)

    Other Vaynerisms??

  25. September 29, 2006

    SS Chris

    MaryS,

I like it…AND remember that incident well!!

    Hence,….we’ll call it the VaynerSCOWL!!
