    Whoops almost forgot…
How about tasting the San Rustico Amarone 2000 …seems like a steal for $21!

Lead us, Gary, to the value juice!

Hey Gary, I agree with Coop! Enough with the $30+ episodes for a while. Let’s see some reviews on value wines. Nothing better than finding a $10 – $15 wine that is just outstanding! Gary, you have a wine store at your disposal, your viewers need your help to search out and lead us to the value juice!

Gary – not a $2,000 wine but one that I really think is a great value, I would like you to taste the Jean Louis Chave Mon Coeur Cotes Du Rhone 2004

    Hi Gary,
It’s fun to watch these episodes and I really enjoy them but these are all out of my league. How about a few “value based wine shows”. Up to $10.00 and 10-15 and 15-20. That’s where I live and breath. My goal is finding great $10-$20 wines. There is no greater thrill and I do have a sophisticated pallete. I think you can do dozens of shows on these. I crave these.

    Another great episode!

Question: We are expecting our first child in December and would like to buy a case of wine from the 2006 vintage (when it comes available) to save for his 21st birthday. I am leaning toward a Super Tuscan or Chianti and secondly a Bordeaux… I would really like to hear your suggestions for a wine that will age well for the next two decades. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks in advance, Jason

A bunch of episodes ago you said Central Otago was the new hot place / greatest value in pinot noir, a good backup to todays show would be to taste the only other central otago pinot you have in the store. You tasted the 3 miners which was awesome (tasted at the super tasting last night) and you gave 95 pts to, tomorrow you should taste the Amisfield 2004 Central Otago, to see how it stacks up against the big burgundies from today.

yo gary….i wasn’t talking about what is the best source for tasting info…i was asking what is the best source for articles on growers, vineyards, etc. personally i just drink the stuff like you suggest…and get drunk, like you suggest….but i thought there might be some sort of wine magazine or something that you like to read. just wanted to hear something about you. i like the WLTV “terrior” section…interesting stuff.

QOTD: Chat Larose Trintaudon Medoc 34700…

oh yeah, and it is pronounced zero-creep…

and for “off the wall” question’s sake: i watch all the UFCs that come on PPV…always drink wine with my blood sports…any suggestions? i find that italian wines work especially well with ass-kickings…not sure why…

    Gary,
Great episode. It was very difficult trying to take you seriously as you talked about how “refined” and “elegant” and “thought-provoking” all the wines were when you had a sign next to your head reading “wine smells like poop.” Great juxtaposition.
    QOD: Quinta do Carmo 2002.
