    Vayniacs,

Can anyone with a NYT describe the WL ad? I won’t be able to get to the newstand (in Dayton, OH) until after work. Thanks!

Susan: It was about 8,000 posts ago, but I was joking about this being my first post. Had the gravitars been operating properly we could have avoided this terrible mess.

    SS Chris

Eugene, Now that you know the genesis of SS Chris (I had already attached the initial comment from “GOL” where he nominated this BLOG name), does that make you feel any better? He did this after I was repeatedly referring to the Spreadsheet as the “SS” to make it easier typing for my many comments.

As Brandon indicated, there are plenty of other examples where SS appears (ships, cars, etc. etc.).

Prior to that I used to go by Chris Stan (Gary even referred to me as Chris Stan a few times on the episodes).

Also, the top of the SS, states both my name AND SS Chris.

For reference, here’s GOL’s initial comment:

“SS Chris, (I nominate that as your new blog name for this blog, kinda cool, all WLTVers know what it stands for but it also sounds like a ship. GOL”

OK…… which one of you guys took my NYTimes from my yard this morning!!!!!!

Chris, don’t worry, i didn’t really relate SS Chris to the Nazi’s ; thought more of a “Spread Sheet” chris… I am surprise with the number of people who chimed in that the do associate the names. it’s getting a little out of hand.

    Marc,

He was very influential fellow I gather.

I can name a few Marcs that were in the same league.

But Marc reminds me of Saint Mark hotel and bar in East Village, which brings back good memories. So please keep it.

All I am saying that Chris should use his real name.

Eugene…Please change your name…it is offensive because it reminds me of Pope Eugene III Summons to A Crusade, Dec 1, 1154. What a ruthless killer he was…killing people because they worship something other than God!!!

  20. October 25, 2006

    MarcT

SS Chris…if you change your name because of something that has NOTHING to do with you or anything I will be sorely disappointed.
I might have to change my blog name to something like Ganjaweed… What? Is that to close to Janjaweed for anyone?

    Eugene

    Kahuna,

I usually quickly scan through the comments.

When I saw “45” and “barrel” in you comment #153 I thought that you’re in trouble.

    Reading slower alleviated my worries.

  22. October 25, 2006

    Eugene

    Chris,

I think of SS as stainless steel and as a nazi connection.

    Pleas change it.

I suggest that you use your real name since it is on the top of the spread sheet and everyone knows it anyway.

My point is – you don’t need a screen name.

QOD : I almost forgot Jacques Selosse’s regular cuvée. Incredible wine, more like an excellent Montrachet stuffed with bubbles (it has a definite mineral and oak character).

BrandonM…I have searched the heavens. I can’t wait to find out what you are referencing.

I agree…SS stands for Spread Sheet…we all know that…letting a blog name offend is a little weak.
I say if SS Chris has to change his name then so does Patty O because I am big time offended by her name…I don’t know about you guys but Patty O’ The Giant Leprechaun has beaten many people to a pulp in the squared circle and scares the crap out of me!
Then…what does M stand for REALLY Brandon…sure your last name may be Miller but are you giving us a signal? Maybe it stands for…the 1931 movie “M” and you are a CHILD-MURDERER from Germany!!!!

    Hi Gary

Long time viewer, first time poster !

    Great show today.

QOD : favourites growers : Thierry Blondel in Ludes and Serge Rafflin in Ludes as well. Great wines, both Vintage and NV. In 1996, we got the chance to taste old vintages (back to 1982) from Rafflin. Very exotic flavors, kinda mushroomy nose. Superb wines.
