It’s amazing that the only retailor around here that has the 05 shotfire around here sells it for $29.95 while selling the 06 for 19.95. Complete BS. I’ve also got to say that it seems time has not done this wine well. It’s damn hot on the end.

everyone take it easy….I understand you guys are upset…but it is a contest, and the person who had the most comments wins, period. If I have the most then I win, fair and square…if I don’t then I lose and I pay for shipping, thats it. I am not going to cry about it.

Yea, I didn’t think it had anything to do with WLTV….sucks though for people tring to access/post from work. I e-mailed last night and the contest ends today at 3pm, so that was the only place most had a chnace to post from.

    Hi Gary,

Amazing episode. Huge fan of WLTV. I absorb over 25 different wine blogs/podcasts and I can honestly say that WLTV is the best of the bunch right now.

My question is this: Living in Manhattan we have many wonderful restaurant options available to us. I have a decent 100+ bottle cellar in our apartment and I sometime want to bring a very nice bottle to a restaurant to enjoy with the meal. I know all the basic rules about only bringing a bottle that is not on the restaurants list etc. but even with that being said, I find that when I call to make a reservation, many restaurants are less than thrilled to hear we will be bringing wine.

What is your overall opinion of BYO to a restaurant. What policies do you follow?

As a sidenote, my wife and I have two small children, so “quite dinners at home” are often impossible. That is the main reason I like to bring the bottles to the restaurant. The nights we can arrange babysitting and go out for dinner, I know we can enjoy the bottle over a quite peaceful dinner.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

    Keep up the great work!

Hey Gary Mike F. sent me here…pay no attention to the By Mike F. sig at the bottom of the page. Mike F said to tell you he REALLY could use the free shipping so he can spend the 5 minutes it takes to drive to WL to drink more wine. By the way since I maintain an E-mail database of 30000 valid email addresses, do you think that it would be Spam if I sent out an email blast asking everyone to post for me on wltv? ..Just a thought.

an old world wine usually a wine from a tradional growing region such as france, new world from cali or austraila, old world syle wine is usually more terrior driven taste..dirt, rock ect, new world wine would imply its a fruit bomb

    Hey Gary,

What ever happened with you and the Vloggies? Did I miss the final tally? I voted for you in every category.

Oh well- ok scrap it that idea then- Good Luck Stallion - but sad to say I wont be seeing Rocky 6- I could get a good Reisling for the price of the movie ticket and popcorn-

hmmmmm i dunno if I like that ida Kahuna…its more of a convenience factor really. Since I work about 50 hrs a week I can’t go during the week the only day I can go is on Saturdays….it just makes it easier. To be honest….I didn’t even win the contest yet, so lets see what happens. Plus, it would be cheaper for Gary to ship to NY then it would to CA or out another state on the west coast

I say to help maximize this contest- I say since it looks like Stallion is winning- If he wins give the stallion the price of shipping off his orders so he can pick his wine up - Since I am sure he would love to shop in person also and this would cover his tolls and gas plus still give him a bit of a discount on the wine-
Then let whover comes in second who cant pick up their wine also win.

This way there is two winners make that three as Gary will be selling even more wine!

I was wondering what happened to all my JP Morgan friends. I called them and they are trying to post but seem to be blocked from the site. Something about restricted access to site that have alcohol and tobacco keeps popping up. I had another friend tell me the same thing earlier from a different company.
