Nice job Jason! That episode was like a well balanced Meritage – hints of brilliance, with an underlying fruitiness, keeps coming on through the finish.

And how about a hand for Gary, for letting the spotlight on his show shine on a Vaynerite.

Fantastic Job, Jason. Really a lot of fun to watch. This goes to show how we all love wine, and also the great job that Gary does presenting them. It’s a lot of fun being part of this vlog community. BTW, when’s Gary’s b-day?

    HOLY VAYNERCHUK…

LET ME BE THE FIRST TO SAY: AWESOME!!!

Jason, your name has now become an inextricable part of the Wine Library TV experience; you have earned your immortality my son.

C’mon the man deserves a Chateau Petrus or at least a jug of that Carlo Rossi…whatd’ya say Gary Gar? Or is immortality a virtue in itself?

  68. November 9, 2006

    Jason

Holy shit, thank you guys so much for the responses! I’ve been thinking about this thing for a month or two now, and finally sat down last weekend and basically watched every episode straight to put it together. It was a ton of fun, and actually my first video editing project (I used Quicktime Pro if you geeks are interested), and I learned a lot. My father-in-law Steve was amazingly helpful in video taping the sections of me, so thanks to him.

Let me add my thanks to Gary for providing such great material. I basically just put together moments of the show that made me laugh. Thank you, Gary. I do feel obligated to point out that there does seem to be a community outcry for free shipping for me… couldn’t help that one.

Anyway, thanks for all the love guys. I’ve got about fifty clips I didn’t use, so consider part 2 in the works. :-)

  69. November 9, 2006

    Jack:)

    Jason,
When Gary decides to do something really great for the best intro to WLTV. You have my vote.
I made my wife, who gets really annoyed with me for putting on WLTV instead of helping around the house, sit down and watch this. She has seen enough episodes to really enjoy you intro this.

Great job, Jason!!!!!!! I look forward to the “cat piss” in Vol II

  73. November 9, 2006

    Jason

By the way, for the record, I think there are at least two intros that are better than my own. The guy that tasted two buck chuck and compared it to a chicken stuffed with cherries and cigarette butts, roasted on a cedar plank, then thrown out and eating the cedar plank instead was just amazing, I loved how much he picked up on Gary’s mannerisms. Also, the recent one where the kid tasted OJ had me rollin. Those guys deserve some serious credit.

Also, in case anyone finds this interesting, my favorite moment from the whole montage was Gary saying “It reminds me a little bit of Cocoa Puffs, you know the new chocolate version.” What the hell other version is there??? :-) Again, thanks so much guys, I appreciate the kind words.

  74. November 9, 2006

    David

Jason. Great job, this is definitely a clip to forward to friends tomorrow morning.

  75. November 9, 2006

  76. November 9, 2006

    Rebecca

    Jason,
You Rock!! What a great time, thanks to you for the hysterical and well-edited video and thanks to Gary for the material….looking forward to part 2!

Orgman, you are in for a ride! Jason’s montage is, to me, perfect timing for you to jump on board. Go out, buy some wine, and spend the next weekend or two watching WLTV, sipping, smelling, reading comments and enjoying all the while of course. I think that you will love what Gary and WL have got going on. I know the rest of us do.

BTW, GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!! 8-0!!!!!!! Who would-a-thought – only two years ago?

    Rebecca

  77. November 10, 2006

Great editing; it flowed like wine at WL.

  78. November 10, 2006

Hey Gary…how about a show on wine made in New Jersey in honor of the Scarlet Knights HUGE victory last night over Louisville.

  79. November 10, 2006

    Eugene

    Gary,
Someone asked you before this question:

Could you please elaborate on the “fake fruit”?
What exactly do you mean by this and is it something that winemaker adds to wine or it occurs naturally?

    Thanks

  80. November 10, 2006

    AlisonD

Jason, that was AMAZING! I have to watch it at least 10 mores times. And Gary, it couldn’t have been done without your enthusiastic attitude!

  84. November 10, 2006

Jason, really fun…. really appreciate it!

In the future, we could do one just of the off beat tastess like the worms, cat pee, roadkill and bubbling tar episodes that Mr. Vaynerpickles uses! LOL!

  86. November 10, 2006

    Paul

Just got to see the episode, Jason. Unbelieveable. A 99 rating. Please do a sequel.

  87. November 10, 2006

    JJ

    Loved it! Thanks Jason.

Can anyone tell me what the episode/wine Gary was refering to when he says “hit a deer on the road, let it fall down, throw a bunch of cherries on it, take out your knife that you always have on you, cut the deer, bite it, that’s the flavor profile”? I gotta try that wine!

  88. November 10, 2006

    SeanM

Jason, perfect capture of WLTV. How’s your wife dealing with your swelled head from all the praise? ;-)

  89. November 10, 2006

    Jason

SeanM, lol. She’s actually enjoying it as much as me I think. :-)

  90. November 10, 2006

    Jason

JJ, Episode 98 had the “deer wine.” It was the Razon Valascro 2004. Gary gave it a 90. It’s an awesome episode, he rates wines and cheeses side by side and as combos. Really fun. Glad you liked the intro, thanks.

Congats on your Jets Huuuuge win today Gary! Offense and running game were on fi-ya! What was it like 2002 the last time the Jets beat the Pats. On the road no less. Way to start the 2nd half of the season! I don’t think it will be too hard to guess your mood tomorrow. BTW Gary your staff is the best! I picked up two mixed cases yesterday and your guys tore through my shopping list and got me on my way in no time. (I was in a bit of a hurry).

[...] Gary has been changing the wine world as host of WLTV has built a rabid following of wine fans (“Vayniacs”, they’re called — myself included) with his energetic take on making wine fun — this is precisely the same mantra we had building Cork’d. But Gary also really knows wine — something Dan B. nor I can really claim. The recycling guy in my neighborhood knows how much I love wine (and regularly) — but that doesn’t mean I know wine. You know? To get an idea of the show, be sure to check out this video summary. [...]

Starting this reply wearing a smile, I wanted to congratulate your program with acquiring three new fans; Myself, my Mother, and my wine tasting friend Emily. Rich in creativity and energy, watching your shows make time speed by. I consider myself new to the wine world, even though I work with about 80 wines at my restaurant, and have been enjoying wine for over 4 years, I am lost when comparing wines to food, identifying scents, flavors, and the overall terminality. I guess this is were I should lick rocks and so forth right…
My first wine of choice, when getting starting, was Cab Sav (big fan of Santa Rita, Chile). Lately I have been trying two bottles per week, always different. The Trapiche Broquel Malbac 2006, Argentina, to me, was a hit. It convinced me to break my habit of always buying Cab Sav.
One wine that took me for a ride, that I don’t have anything but the cork to identify, was a Bordeaux, Superieur 2003. Any ideas? Also, what comments might you have about the wines that I mentioned?
    Thanks Gar-y

Great Job! Only one thing I missed, he never mentioned The Thunder! Thanks for putting all the time and work into this so we can all enjoy it. Heaven knows I don’t have the patience for these kinds of projects. Keep it up.

Okay, Gary, I made the mistake of commenting before I watched the episode 125 intro. That was one hell of an editing job, and I couldn’t go without commenting on it. I’m going to send a link to this to my wine-loving friends.

    Gary,

I have been lurking for months, and had to reach out and let you know “we’re here” – I believe there are millions of WLTV Lurkers, just sitting on the sidelines enjoying your unique brand of wine tasting and passion for what we all enjoy – great wine! I had never watched episode 125, what a compilation! Well done, and definately captures your style to a tee. Keep it up, and on behalf of the millions of lurkers, who all own big ass glasses – CHEERS!
