    Gary,

I don’t know if you are still taking requests for wines to be featured on WLTV. If you are, here are my suggestions with the product codes. I’d like to see a show on either budget Italians (

QOD: I was already a WL fan being from the area and was on the mailing list so that is how I found out about WLTV. I have been watching since the very beginning and obviously am still here so that says something. I referred a few of my wine drinking buddies to WLTV (although I can’t say for sure what their blog names are………….)

Keep up the good work Gary. Good luck up in MA this weekend. I sent my friend who lives in Providence an email for a restaurant suggestion so when she gets back to me, I will shoot you an email.

    Gary,
How about restocking that Wolf Trap??
You should do an episode about unusual tasting wines (read: soy sauce, gym clothes, bacon, etc). They might not be something id bring to a party with non-wine drinkers, but its fun to enjoy them with those who have had enough of the mundane and want a change.

    QOD:
    1.Been here since ep #1
2.Referred my friend Wilson, but dont know his SN…he is addicted now :)

Found the website on line by doing a wine search, went to the old store and bought a case of 2000 Crognolo. I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve told 20 to 30 people over the past three years. Anyone who drinks wine.

Damn gary I get here too late always and the damn wine is sold out. I shall hit up the local bevmo and see if they got it. I have never been to the northeast but I hope you find a good place to eat and a good tailgate to chill on. If I was there we would do it real big in the vayniac t shirt!! Im am rooting for your jets this weekend for ya :)

    QOTD
    1. I stumbled upon it myself using the all mighty google

Gary I found Wine Library by doing a Yahoo search for a wine. Checked out your site and saved it to my favorits. I worked late one day and played maybe a dozed of WLTV shows. I have been telling friends and familiy about WLTV ever since. Haven’t turned anyone into a Vayniac but they have bought a couple of cases from you.

GV I’m disappointed in your reaction to the Columbia Crest & even concerned with the condition of your palate. We were forced to endure 2 bottles of that for New Years Eve & it was torture. You should really take some time off. Perhaps you should drink water over the weekend while in Mass/RI.

    1) I believe that winezap bought me to you.
    2) Everyone at work.
    3) See #2

    You da best meng

    Gary:

The Oyster Bar on Atwells Ave in Federal Hill in one of my Favorites in Providence! Don’t be tempted by the Mediterraneo when you first get on Atwells. The Food is sub par!!

I’m rooting for the JETS this weekend!

    Gary,
Please accept my sympathy for having endured this torture to your palate.

Great episode for the beginners. Most of us wouldn’t go close to these wines save for Columbia Crest.

    QOTD:

I saw ad for WL on NJ Turnpike and decided to look further. I am watching WLTV since episode 1.

I keep telling about WL to all my friends and relatives, although most of my relatives not into wine, which brings me to my question:

My father was never a wine drinker. He never liked alcohol in any form.
Now he likes kosher wines based on concord grape-sugary syrup basically.

I tried several times to introduce him to real wines but he didn’t like them.
Please suggest a transition wine that will help to turn him towards nice reds and whites.

About two years ago I searched for an specific wine on Google. Wine Library showed up with the best price.(29.00 vs 37.00 at the local store) I ordered 6 bottles and it arrived in Little Rock in 3 days. I have ordered much more since then. WLTV makes me want to try wines that I would never consider otherwise.

QOTD 1 – Came to the old store and found a couple of older bottles of Spottswoode at a great price and have been hooked ever since.

You definitely got my attention with your reference to artificial flavors. Are big producers actually adding artificial flavors, colors, extracts, aromas to their wines without including that fact on the label? If not, how do you account for those notes? As a beerhead turned wine enthusiast, ingredients are a pretty fundamental concern. Thanks.

    QOTD1 – typical google find
    QOTD2 – Dozens of people

Gary, the new glass sucks…bring back the playoff glass! You can’t swirl properly in the new glass and it looks silly.

Thanks for the shout out to CANADA!

I came across the site from a link on another wine site…don’t remember which one.

To all those who didn’t appreciate this tasting let me remind you that not everyone is a wealthy sommelier who has access to WLTV and all the expensive boutique wines that are reviewed. For everybody else this type of tasting is very useful. I appreciated hearing tasting notes on wines I could access and relate to even if most of them are wines I wouldn’t drink either. The Wolf Trap was a nice surprise and sure enough for the first time I found a wine that was reviewed, that I wanted to get, and is actually available at my local wine distributor. Yeah!,,,can’t wait to pick it up after work.

I’ve told over a dozen people about the site but I’m still working on getting some of them to become members. Since I’ve started watching Wine Library TV I have come off as such as wine geek to some people that I have had 3 people tell me in the last 2 weeks that I should get into the wine business. I had to explain that the reason I know so much about wine/wine tasting is WLTV.

    Cheers!

I was refered to WineLibrary by my realtor Nicolle Salee (don’t know her screen name). I have told everyone I work with about the site (especially the Jet fans). I love the website and watch every episode….keep it up!!!

Gary, when mondavi jr. was on your show awhile back he said his family was bought out but on today’s show it you made it seem like the mondavi’s still make the juice. Are they still the winemakers? Also a great low budget wine…2000 Apollonio….great stuff.

    Gary,
    cc.Tangaroa
Tangaroa, what website are you on? Why did you visit it? Will you return to seek more advise on wine? Answer; It’s Gary’s website!!!! You came looking for his expertise and you sure as hell will return to seek more advise…FOR FREE!!!! That’a where he gets off telling us what we need to know.
Gary, sorry to get on a rant but the rest of us appreciate the work that you do.
QOD. I, like GeneV have been a winelibrary customer long before WineLibraryTV. It was a natural progression. I have told everyone who will listen about it. As a Vascular Surgeon, I can also push the health benefits along with a plug for YOUR site. My motto long ago became, “LIfe is too short to drink bad wine”. My wife,Carmen and my kids finally engraved it on a wine glass and gave it to me as a gift. I know you know it, I hope people like Tangaroa will too.
Good luck to you and your Jets.

Speaking of QPR, I just had the Monkey Bay 2005 Sauvignon Blanc from new zealand. I know Gary reviewed it a while ago, but WOW. I was extremely impressed since it was 9 bucks. Definitely has a few grasshopper heads in there. I agree that California and the US is not the place to go for everyday QPR wines.

QOTD- I have turned my best wine drinking buddy, my father in law, and a few others onto the site.

QOTD- I found out about it from the wine guy himself, Gary V

This is part question and part show idea. Episode on Syrah with this question thrown in…..I was recently was told that Syrah should not be cellared as long as some other varietals. How long can I wait to drink my cellared Syrahs. Don’t want to drink too early. I have some 2002 Chalone Syrah and some Ojai Syrah that I don’t want to waste. Thanks Gary and keep the beard coming.

My QOD– What is more obnoxious? The Beard or the dorky light bulb shaped tasting glass (or is it an upside down bowling pin?)? So what that it’s a “Riedel” –it is totally ridiculous. I am really pulling against the Jets now, and I will not watch another WLTV or buy another wine from WL if you bring out the pilsner glass again. PAZZZ on Jets, Beard, and Bowling Pin.

Rhode Island eats: Al Forno by far-IT Invented the grilled pizza! yeah thats big time

Lets be honest all the people out there with good wine palates bought plenty of cheap duds to get to where they are now. I am sure no one came out of the womb with a taste for first growths.

I collect Chateauneuf du Pape, I sell Chateauneuf du Pape to less than 1% percent of the customers that come to the shops I supply. I love it when someone walks into my stores and has a great palate and buys really great stuff, but I sell a lot more Beringer White Zinfandel to happy smiling people who enjoy what they’re buying just as much.

Don’t be haters, don’t pick on young palates.

QOTD: Found the store on line, and was harassed by a wine rep. who said- “I don’t know how the hell those @#$%^er’s in New Jersey do it! My cost is more than their @#$%^ing retail!

QOTD2: Referred local reps who sell Melka wines, another who sells Tensley, another who sells Meeker and so on. All of them complain they can’t compete.

    1) on one of the forums on cellartracker.com
    2) I’ve referred several friends and my bro.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but good luck this weekend. I hope gang green takes down that hooded sweatshirted wife-stealing perma-scowled Belichek…I’m rooting for the lesser of two evils I guess.

Wow…I made the top 90! hurray! just kidding…seriously…don’t take the top 10 spots to just say “oooh, look at me, I’m dedicated but have nothing interested to say”…sheesh…

Loved the comments on all the wines…my wife used to work in events and their call brands for wine were the BV Century and Mondavi CK…she laughed when she saw you tasting those, because they are pretty much crap. Those first couple of wines remind me of eating at Chili’s! Everytime we decide to grab some tasty Chili’s cause the budget needs some massaging…I look at their “drinks” list and laugh my face off at the so called advertising for their beverages….the pictures look disgusting…let alone the knowlege of what you’re actually spending $7 a glass on…COME ON…you can get a bottle of that hooch for $7.

    Anyway…QOTD:
    1) My bro PT
    2) Hmmm…wife, friends, coworkers…heck, I even posted a video AND a “holla” on my blog…so..all three of the people that read that have heard about it too. HA.

    Happy Winetime!
