Wines tasted in this episode:

Petite Sirah is it the same as Syrah? Is Petite Sirah bigger or smaller then Syrah? Is Petite Sirah the same as Durif? All these questions and more will be answered by a sad Gary Vaynerchuk.

Gary, long time fan, first time reply. I am also a die hard Jets fan. The game was a lot closer than the score suggests. We gotta be proud of our boys this year. Next year we will go even further. If only we were in the NFC instead of AFC, no one could stop us then. When I am down I like a big glass of Whiskey and then another to chase it down. Hang in there man.

All these notes about Petite Syrah. Gary: lets get the REAL THING into the shop:
Warrabilla Reserve Durif. 16.5% – sure, New World, but Jesus, what a great drink!
Blows away anything anyone here has ever had, although hard to find here and marked up big-time from the bargain $17 it is at the vineyard!

HA, I totally rofled at Gary. I knew he was just kidding. No way could anyone be that sad over a game (geez, I hope nothing else happened)! What a bad actor he is! :)

QOTD: When I’m down… I vaynerpazzzz on all wine and head straight for the Jameson!

My first attempts at PS, current vintages of Bogle and Parducci, were uninspiring. I’ll look for the Concannon.

QOD:Bad day sad? Argyle Brut. Jets fan sad? Sterno, strained through dirty sock.

    Gary-
    Sorry about the Jets!
Somewhere, in that brilliant mind of yours – you do remember that it is just a game, right?
    It has been a
    LLLOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG
time since I saw the dead-pan Gary!
    Wow!
Play some Wii, drink some Champagne and eat LOTS of Skittles.
Hopefully we will get ‘energetic’ Gary back soon!
I have not tried Petite Syrah!
Later this week – I hope we can get some petite energy!
    Cheer up!
    :)

Gary, at least you are not a die hard Ohio State fan…sheesh…I feel sorry for those people…Jets at least fought their hearts out all year…the buckeyes got beat up like nobody’s business.

Gary – the only thing missing from this show was you slitting your wrists as the screen faded to black. So your beloved football team lost a playoff game – big deal – yet you choose to drag the rest of us down this morose path of depression and defeat. Talking about wine should have been your salvation and brought you out of whatever funk you were in. GET OVER IT!!!

Gary, congrats on the Wine Spectator on line feature, you are in the big leagues now, let’s hope we can see you now on regular TV.
    Congrats again.

G- sorry. I was rooting hard, as i have all season, for the cinderella season to continue for your Jets. All in all an AMAZING year!!! On that note, congratulations and major kudos on being such a loyal supporter. I’m not a believer in bashing a team or its fans, instead I believe in supporitng an opponent to make you (or your team) play/live up to your (its) highest potential (eg. Boise State v Oklahoma). With that said… hold your head high and be proud of an amazing season that holds great promise for next year. And, in the meantime, as a life long Bears fan, that appreciates loyalty above almost all else, we’d love to have your support in the hope that the opposing teams facing the Bears make the Bears play to their full potential as the Bears go on to victory in the Super Bowl.

It could be worse Gary, Tom Coughlin could be your coach and Eli Manning could be your Quarterback. Mangini is back, Vilma, Rhodes, and Thomas have barely entered their prime. C’mon man. Drink Laphroaig when sad which may not make you happy but you will feel very manly.
