Wines tasted in this episode:

Petite Sirah is it the same as Syrah? Is Petite Sirah bigger or smaller then Syrah? Is Petite Sirah the same as Durif? All these questions and more will be answered by a sad Gary Vaynerchuk.

Gary- “Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medecine go down, in the most delightful way”. If your angnst(which seemingingly appears to go beyond the game loss) cannot be felt and dealt with libation free, then perhaps a nice late harvest- fill in the blank- of your choice will do.

Also, don’t forget to balance out by perusing the comments section(200+)as I have just done today! You are on a serious growth curve Mr Vanerman. Kudos to you from Kathy and Adrian too up here in Northern Cal, the land of the enchanted AVA’s…

Sorry man. I was rooting for the Jets. I’ll probably be sad either next Monday, the Monday after that or the Monday after the Superbowl…so I’ll let you know what wine I’ll drown my sorrows in when the Bears drop a playoff/Superbowl game.

See you later man…buck up little camper.

remember the bengals last year. conference champs…palmer’s knee destroyed on his first pass for a heroic td. season comes to a premature end. we hate the steelers here in cincy, like you do the pats. Like a couple of others said, lets start getting into baseball and focus on what we all love…WINE.

For a comeback, Gary, How about another sparkler episode….I know you want to. some fun Cava and some obscure grower champagne. How ’bout it?

Got a bit lost on these arcanes of American Football…but understand your feelings, got the same when our french team was trounced 47-3 by the mighty All Blacks in rugby recently…Love everyone of your episodes ; do you have many foreigners in your fan list..?

I’d drink Burgundy when I’m sad or happy, but I can’t afford it.

Yes, guess I made him laugh. ;-D

    Gare,
Listen, forget all the crap about the Patriots. What you need to focus on are the teams we all really hate, like Eagles and Dallas. Then have another look at the way that Dallas went down in flames. Jets may have given it away but at least they didn’t put on a spectacle like the Cowgirls did
Cheer up and plan a visit to Madison in the summer!

This one of the very few times when G has not responded personally to a post of mine. I wonder if anyone got a reply from him yesterday.

Yes, Ronguy, I do have experience with Mr. Boone. That is how I consoled myself upon my team not even getting to the playoffs!! Hey, wait a second, how do you even know who my team is???? :)

Gary referred to those +200 comment episodes as the steroid era!

Buck up young Gary, there is always next year.

As for wine, I drink the David Bruce Petite Syrah the most.

QOTD- Sad wine, I agree with earlier post that quantity over quality after bad playoff loss, especially if your holder cannot get a stupid place kick snap down, but I digress.

Cheer up and drink some wine.

Unfortunately I cannot have a lot of sympathy…a lifelong PATRIOTS fan; but I won’t rub it in too much…I promise.

I do have some empathy, however…I felt the same way last year when the Pats fell on their sword. Hang in there!

I love Petite Sirah and enjoyed the episode…thanks.

QOTD: I never drink when I’m sad; just sends me into a deeper funk. But once I start to recover I like a BIG BOLD OVER THE TOP CALIF CAB to boost my spirits.

Can we bring the fun Gary back please!

Nothing helps you sink deeper into depression than some Wild Irish Rose wrapped in a ten year old brown paper bag. At least it used to help me get a little sadder. Sorry about the Jets.

    Brandon M,
You’re right. I dropped the ball. A thousand pardons.
By the way, has the reply total ever exceeded 200 for any episode?

Looks like the Pats are showing a glimmer of what they had in that legendary 2004 season. There’s no shame in losing to the superior team and eventual super bowl champions.

KenP…I know your not trying to pick any fight, I’m cool with your comments.
I still don’t understand what you meant though. I’m not sure where I was trying defend Gary on things. If you look up in the top ten I was actually making fun of the episode with the Ferris Buehler reference.

Hey Gary, so sorry about your Jets. But hey, the silver lining is that now you can get excited about The NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!!! Even if they don’t win on Saturday (God forbid), we’ve still had a wonderful season down here in Louisiana. So nothing to be sad about here! Who Dat say they gonna beat dem Saints?

I’m coming out of lurker status too… I hope you’re back in form after this show… The Jets made it this far BECAUSE of the beard so you’ve done them a great service keeping it as long as you did…

    QOTD:

I’m a goose fan myself whenever I’m a little down, but only if I can’t find friends to hang out with and cheer me up.

Honestly, as much as I love wine, I stay away from alcohol when I’m sad. A sad drink leads to a sad drunk.

  24. January 9, 2007

Cheer yourself up with some nice champagne like wine! Bubbles of joy ;)

Great act Gary. You could have been a Ohio SDtate fan!!! Hey Bay Bay Jinx, do you have experience with Mr. Boone? Pretty tough post considering your team didn’t get in.
