That was great!!! I was wondering why anyone on Long Island would try to plant Merlot. I’ve never had a Long Island wine before but the best red wine I ever had on Cape Cod or in Virginia was a Cab Franc. It doesn’t seem like the best climate or growing season for Merlot. Am I missing something?

      GO BEARS!!!!

Nice long range spit into the trash can. You could tell Gary was getting psyched for his vacation.

That little 2:30 fast-forward tour of the Library was unforgettable! Irresistible! YouTube-able!

Yuw, Gary you like tired like hell, take a day off, you workaholic :D ! Chateau Shanghai, it’s just that it sounds like a cheap gimmick, otherways I’d certainly like to try a bottle from the Farrest East …
      C ya!

You should post that tour of Wine Library at regular speed one day. I’ve always wondered what you were saying.

Once the Benny Hill music kicked in, I was expecting a chase scene complete with fist-waving old man and scantily-clad vixens.

I feel like it’s all my fault…I was a “Lurker” and stayed silent…Then I started leaving comments and Gary went away…I feel like it’s all my fault…I ran off Gary Vay-ner-chuk…

Thanks for the re-”run” thru the store.
Finally got to see it for myself last week – even better in person.
See ya soon on WLTV, Gary!

      Gary,
A self professed newby to WLTV (last 25 episodes or so).
I enjoy your concept and will promote with all my wine geek friends.
Because I missed the original episode, I would like to add the Marston Family Vineyards 2002 Cab. Philippe Melka any one? Hope you enjoy the sunny warm FLA weather or did it freeze?

Never saw that episode. Cool store. Love the cheese section. Reminds me of Wegman’s, which refuses to grace North Carolina with it’s presence. Come back soon Gary!

WOW WOW WOW WOW !!!!! That is the wine “shop” that I have been DREAMING of all my wine loveing years!! Ohhhhh my. I can not explain how much I want to some there and start working for you. If I could. I did live in MN, that would be a looooong drive, but for that selection I just might. Thanks for the tour!

Great shop tour!! I gotta stop by sometime! NY wines is all we had in Ithaca! Made a great senior week 25yrs ago, touring all the wineries in the Finger Lakes region! Hope you’re having a restful week in Florida!

      Benny Hill music I love,
New York wines I have not tried but what the hell I’m in
Thanks Gary, can’t wait till you get back !

I actually like the reruns. Since I only started watching at about episode 150, I’ve gone back and watched some of the older ones that I though would interest me, but it’s nice that gary cherry-picked a few favourites to show us again. That store is gargantuan! There isn’t a wine shop even half that size in all of Ireland! Nor can we get New York wines here.

Another episiode request: Bordeaux vertical of something really good – don’t think I’ve seen any verticals yet…

      Nice tour of the store.

But where are those parakeets I keep hearing the background?

Well Gary! You better get back from vacation. You were the topic on the Eric Asimov NYTimes.com blog today.

      Man!, the Vayner-nation is growing!

@Mark – Nice. I went to add a comment specifically to point out the Benny Hill theme and you beat me to it. haha.

Long live Benny Hill (at least in re-runs).

That was a great (albeit quick) way to do a tour.

Now I have to see if this is really a rerun – back to episode 64 – also – why aren’t you using “The Vayner-CHUCK” for bad wines? That’s an awesome saying!

speaking of trying new things and expaning your’s and our palates, a vin jaune episode would be awesome Gary

China is quickly growing into the future epicenter of wine exchange and palate development. You have a fast growing economy, anxious to learn about the world. Fast forward 2 years from when you originally made this episode (which btw, seeing the wine library, makes me want to embark on a pilgrimage to visit)and there are vineyards in China revolutionizing Chinese wine. See this cool post from Mr. Jim Boyce of the grapewallofchina, http://www.grapewallofchina.com/2009/10/27/chinas-best-wines-grace-vineyard-silver-heights-tasting-this-friday-in-beijing/

      Keep it up Gary!
