I’m going home to Detroit in two days – nice to see what I have to look forward to!
I have some of the 1998 of that Brunello – can’t wait to taste it!

Great showing of the catlike reflexes, man! Have fun on London!

So, Gary answers the question, “What do you drink while ice fishing, sans shanty?”

Gary – I just hope you don’t get pneumonia now. You are crazy to be out in yesterday’s weather with just a tee-shirt on, even for that limited time. But thanks for the excitement!

Gary! You ARE the MAN!! I laughed my ass off! Great catches, by the way. Just to rub it in…it was in the 70’s today where I am. Just thought I’d let you know….

That was sheer insanity. Reminds me of that old joke: “Did you hear there’s a new restaurant on the Moon?” “Yeah, they have great food, but no atmosphere.”

How about doing a tasting episode underwater, wearing a SCUBA mask? Or maybe holding your head out the window of a moving train? Sheesh, man. I’d kill to try that Brunello, and you’re sucking it down in a snowstorm. Awesome stuff. Hilarious!

    That was the best…..simply hillarious!

    Gary,

You are a sick man ! This will go down as the classic WLTV episode. It also reminds me why I moved to Hong Kong as I don’t want to put up with the snow, ice and the cold weather anymore.

    Great !!!!!!!

Still watching everyday from Hong Kong.

CLASSIC my brother! Your glass catch was amazing..athletic..and hilarious!!
(Who had the idea?…Please tell us tomorrow)

QOTD: not a snow day, but a snow story. March of 1997, (the day after Easter and the night of the NCAA final between Arizona & Kentucky). I’m on my way up to Rochester…it’s snowing hard…on Rt. 380 in PA (Poconos mountains) traffic comes to a halt at 3PM….and doesn’t move until 7AM the next day.

Yes, that’s right..stuck in the car for 16 hrs.!!! That’s the short version…believe me.

Tampa Steve (#104)…dude, you need to lighten up!!

    You are the MAN!!!!

QOTD: Exactly 4 years ago, got about 2 feet of snow in my part of NJ. Real problem occurred when snow plow decided to create a 10 foot mound of snow, blocking my car and the two cars next to me. “Maybe they’ll come back later to fix it like they’re doing for other areas,” I thought, and kept thinking for 3 days…

“Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass vayniac.”

Maybe, but consider that the linear coefficients of thermal expansion for brass and gray cast iron are 0.0000199/degree C and 0.0000105/degree C respectively (from the ASM Metals Reference Book). So if a one-meter long leg of a brass triangle “vayniac” were cooled -200 degrees C, it would shrink unconstrained by 0.00398 m, or about 4 mm. Not a large enough difference to validate the conclusion that the balls in question cannot hold up.

Nice take on the Neri – I’m anxious to try it in a few years. Cheers on the episode!

I’m not worried about you out there in that element with a t-shirt on, I’m more worried about Rick the model wanting you to do a tasting naked. Great show!!!

QOTD: finals week in Ithaca, New York sometime between 1976 and 1978. I was completely unprepared for my exams and lo and behold, my prayers were answered with close to two feet of snow! Central New York was (and I suspect still is) accustomed to dealing with snowstorms so they NEVER canceled classes. However, since it was the end of April the plows were put away so the professors couldn’t get on-campus.
