My favorite Semillion is the Lindemans used to be called Bin 77 but no longer found now known simply as Cawarra Semillon Chardonnay. 2007 was weak too much lime but the 2009 is a great one. Check it out. Its around $13

Absolutely have to agree with Dan Manu here, you haven't tried straight semillons until you have had some Hunter Valley straight Semillons. It's "their thing"... Barossa is attempting to play catch up. South Africa is attempting to play catch up.

Hunter Valley is where it all began... I'd recommend starting with Tyrrell's, most especially their premium wine, and quite possibly the best dry straight Semillon in the world, the Vat 1. Then move down the line to the Belford and even the Stevens. Brokenwood don't do too badly in the Semillon department either.

Cheers

GARY!! You have to have some Australian Hunter Valley 100% Semillons on the show!!

Barossa is def NOT THE place to get semillon in Aus...

PS Semillon is probably my fave wine variety if I had to choose one. ones from the Hunter Valley are generally really citrusy and go really well with seafood and the HV even has a Semillon and Seafood festival once a year.
