No NFL predictions….too emotionally involved with College Basketball and the fact that my Wichita State Shockers suck this year

It has nothing to do with the free shipping offer. I don’t even know about it. Just felt like temporarily unlurking. That’s all.

Hi Gary! Thanks for the free shipping, we are looking forward to it here in Chicago!

Unfortunately, most of the posts today so far have been along the lines of YEAH! FREE SHIPPING! GARY ROCKS!

There hasn’t been much real diagogue today in the episode forum. So I would like to ask a question that would start a nice online conversation. But before that, I would like to submit an editorial comment:

    YEAH! FREE SHIPPING! GARY ROCKS!

Now for my question: For those of you who have drunk the real Chablis (or claim to have) for awhile now, let me ask you, how well do you think these wines age compared to other Burgundy Chards?

As long as the Jets don’t pick up Brett Farve or any important defensive players from the Packers, they can get whomever they want. Pacman Jones might be available. He might be a good replacement for Jumbo Elliot, who is sorely missed. It’s tough to find players nowadays who can urinate into a sink effectively. Pacman has the potential to do that effectively.

QOTD: Never had a Chablis. . . anything in a jug means I should be drinking the macro-brew instead. Besides, the big jugs are too much work the lift and pour.

http://www.graperadio.com just did a 2 part – about 2 hours – interview with Alan Meadows – the Burghound. Educational and interesting (if not totally exciting…)

Woh- ho- ho! Very excited for my upcoming shopping spree!!!! Thanks Gary & all at WL! I can tell you that my order will include the Grossot, thanks to today’s show.

QOTD: I grew up in the south, so I cannot quantify the amount of Jug o’ Chablis I have had in my lifetime. It must be lots. In fact, I think I must have had an entire jug to myself during a friend’s wedding in Alabama in the early ’90’s. At least, that is how my head felt the next day.

Sadly, I cannot do any NFL predictions. I love football, but I am a girl devoted to college ball.

    Thanks again, Gary!

Thank you for the tremendous, tremendous, tremendous, tremendous, tremendous, tremendous, tremendous free shipping episode.
QOTD: I swear I have never had any jug Chablis…..Chianti maybe…at Buca de Bebo in Old Town Pasadena.

I’ve never had a jug wine. Perhaps this is because I never drank in high school and just once in college (But boy did I drink that 1 time! I weighed 103 lbs and drank a 1/2 pint of Bacardi Dark in about 2 hrs….I’m VERY sure that I almost Darwinized myself that night :-) Anyway, after that the taste of alcohol made me nauseous for several years, then I got married and had kids and my life was on hold—but now I’m cured! I love beer and wine! But now there are no jug wines to be found. Right? At least, none that I’ve seen. I tend to go to the wine store vs the grocery store unless there is something very specific to buy that I’ve already had. Plus it has to be on sale…

QotD – My parents always had 3 jugs when I was growing up. “Chablis” (white), “Burgundy” (red) and gin. At 5:00 the evening wind-down began with a dry martini… or 2, while they played a game of cribbage and vented about their day at work. Then my dad would ask mom, “honey – do you want red or white with dinner??” and the appropriate JUG would come to the table. Until a few years ago – I thought chablis and burgundy were the names of 2 grapes -a green grape and a purple grape! Needless to say – I never personally tasted the wine, I just remember my mom always had that “smell” (cheap jug wine!) when she tucked me in to bed!

They still have the jug-o-gin, they’ve progressed to BOX “chablis” (yikes! – but it saves me money when they visit me because they bring their own in a cooler!) – but the system has served them well as they are happily celebrating their 5oth anniversary this summer. Maybe the tons of jug wine helped them make it?!…

First time posting. Thanks for the Chablis episode. I had a Bessin Chablis tonight with some Mahi Mahi and it was perfect. Also, thanks for the free shipping. Some tasty Cote du Rhones are coming my way shortly.

QOTD: 8-10 if Almaden makes fake Chablis. Oh to be young and uninformed again, I can only dream. C’est la vie.

To be honest with you, as for the JETS I don’t know who would be the best fit. Thats a quandry which needs much discussion over many glasses of red burgundy, the most thought provoking of all wines. I am available for counsel when needed. Cheers.
