Thanks, Gary. Did not know that Chablis is Chardonnay. Since I’m a PA whiner, I’ll just have to visit again for some authentic Chablis( sorry, no jugs in white, just the Hearty Burgundy).

…I forgot to metion the bota bags. My college friends and I would go to the festival armed with a full bota over each shoulder. I’m convinced that there’s no faster way to get obliterated.

    Gary,
Just stopped by the store yesterday,no need for free shipping, the store is gorgeous but there was some kind of foul odor floating around . Any reason ? maybe the cheese section had an incident ? Didn’t stop me from buying 5 bottles though.
Love the store and the show keep up the good work!

Cute tricks Gary! Never had a single sip – nada – of any of those bulk flaggon-style “chablis”, but I did have some nice chablis by complete accident in Paris a few years ago, so this was a timely reminder!!

Jeez! I almost had a heart attack when I watched the show at about 2:30 a.m., I was so worried that I’d missed the free shipping. Thanks for giving us an extra day!!!

QOTD: My introduction to wine was Carlo Rossi Burgundy & Sangria. That’s about all I drank for a whole summer. There’s a large Basque population where I live, as well as a yearly Basque Festival (the largest outside of Spain, I’m told), which kicks off with the biggest party of the year. The Basqos mix Carlo with Coke and call it a kalimotxo. …I guess it all starts w/ binge drinking.

Jets can go Yankees during free agency but will still be second to the Pats. Sorry, but that is the truth. At least there will be jugs and of course bottles of Chablis around to comfort all, on those miserable Sundays. Great episode. I love free shipping.

Great episode on Chablis. You make it all so interesting. If I’ve ever had the chablis that comes in the jug or box, maybe I have and I don’t remember. Maybe in a pizzeria. But not that I went out and bought it. I just took my “Free Agency” ride. THANKS SO MUCH! :-D

No jug chablis here. Haven’t had much of the real stuff either. I promise, I will try some soon.

Hey, can you describe what a mature premiere or grand cru chablis is like?

    thanks for the gift GV!!!!!

Thanks, Gary. Free shipping is enough to lure me out of Lurkersville. Not too many wine choices at the local one stop out here in the wild west. Thanks for the opportunity to try new stuff and for the great education.

    Gary
Remember theese wines are some that like bottle age..
The oak will integrate in a few years, and might not seem so “oaky”. Try again in 8years and see an integrated well woven wonder?

Definitely going to seek out some Chablis!
QOTD- Never purchased jug wine. My parents however (back in the day) used to buy Lancers Rose in that funky little terra cotta bottle (’lil jug). I’m happy to report they have evolved since then.

No jug Chablis for me, GV. I didn’t discover wine till late in life. I was beer and coctail drinker primarily in college.

Thanks for the freebie, Gary. I will be buying the middle two Chablis you reviewed with this order along with a couple of Wolf Traps and a Mabileau Bourgeuil St. Nicolas ‘05 and an Aries Los Carneros Merlot ‘01.

    Thank you very much!

By the way, I drank tons of Almaden “Chablis” in my college days. It was mostly chenin blanc, and the nearest thing (in price) to everyday generic white wines of Europe, but nothing like the real thing. I first tried real Chablis in France in the early 80s.

QOTD: None. I have to admit that I haven’t tried chablis yet. But I plan to remedy that soon! Thanks!

Jets will sign Joey Porter and NY will be in an uproar, especially after he pops off his mouth all the time. Go Steelers and Pats!!!
