    QOTD:

The 2005 Torbreck Woodcutter’s Red (shiraz). A $15 shiraz that scored a 93 from RP and has not been tasted on WLTV by GV yet!! Surely this is an extreme value like the Pasoroble special you emailed us about. Would like to see what you think of this one Gary.

Surprise, surprise. I hear it’s a great wine and I’ve been contemplating buying some.

Great show, I love “off-the-wall” wines and try them often. I think the Sawtooth has a great label. I’d spend $8 just for that. BTW, I hope you are tasting at Cour d’Alene in Idaho. If not, make it a point to go there. They have a golf hole that is an island in the middle of a gorgeous lake. Gorgeous, gorgeous part of the country.

    Til tomorrow,

    Cheers!

P.S. Another off-the-wall East Coast wines to try is Horton Viognier from VA.

    Dear Gary

A Danish Rhône fan from Copenhagen, Denmark, would like you to taste the Gigondas, Saint Cosme 2004 (Library Code 28997) tomorrow.

I was hoping you’d taste a little Night Train or Thunderbird, as a tribute to Ernest Gallo. But for some reason :) you don’t sell those. So how about a Gallo Merlot? http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=10265

Another idea for the site: how about the option of popping a standalone video player to watch the daily episode? That way, I could cruise the comments and even leave one, without interrupting the episode (and without having to open a separate browser).

I like the new Flash video format. It has better resolution so I can zoom it to full screen (with control key, scroll wheel).

Most people seem to be picking high rated wines for the QOTD. How about Library Code 29920 (2003 if you have it)? Tank u betty betty much.

Great episode today, I’d love to see you taste more of these atypical regions in future episodes, if only for reactions like the NJ Chardonnay.

QOD: I’d love to see you taste the Luna Beberide Mencia from Bierzo, Spain. I’ve heard great things about Bierzo/the Mencia grape, but have never had one myself. It’s 89 Points Wine Advocate, sounds interesting.
