Gary, love the cheeses. Took some to a Shiraz vs. Zinfandel tasting with some friends this weekend. I’ve been obsessed with trying Robiola since you had it with Brunello several episodes ago. Finally found it at The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, of course. Blog post here: http://www.tagworld.com/brian1970/World/MyWeb.aspx?page=8280b035-5f9f-4de6-9f88-054f04308dd5

Anyway, what was this one? Peccorino? How about a cheese link?

You know what would be an interesting tasting? How about a vertical? Maybe not every year, but 3 or 4 vintages spaced across 10-15 years. Let’s see firsthand how an ageworthy wine does, as time goes by.

Hi people, terrific episode. Loved the “sewer in Tribeca” aspect. Based on episode #148, your next tasting profile episode should have a rusty sewer lid from Tribeca to be your grand finale.

    Have fun in Bordeaux!

Hello everyone. My name is Kevin and I’m a lurker. Gary’s call out to lurkers caught me today.
I hope to post more often even though I vowed not to join any more forums this year.

Gv, you called the beringer chard, cabernet at first… Atleast you got it right before you tasted it! Nice oakmonster impersonation.

Matt: “Hi everyone. My name’s Matt, and I’m a lurker.”

    Everyone: “Hi Matt…”

    My comment: Wine is tasty.

    That is all.

QOTD: GV – you should do total number of comments for one episode, only counting each name (email address) one time. That way instead of having the same peeps posting numerous comments, they’ll actually have to email their buddies and get them to watch and comment.

As far as the number to shoot for? Hey man, you have to set your own goals. Maybe Jets all time high score in one game (maybe multiply that a time or two).

Thanks for bringing out the big guns! If the Beaucastel smells anything like the sewers I’ve smelled downtown, I’m gonna pass. Other than the Beringer, I just don’t think you can properly rate these wines at this age. I don’t think that extended decant produces anything like the changes that bottle age will bring and ultimately determine their potential.

Another top 100! Nice episode, but no wines for me.

    GV,
Nothing better than Italian wine and good cheese. How can I try some of that? Also, will it pair up well with the Pinino Brunello?

yum, Gaja and Beaucastel. Someone should do a study showing when the first substantial non-”top x” post occurs each episode (i.e., one that shows they watched before commenting). This post does not qualify as substantial, though. C’est la vie.

When will someone explain the numbers on the board to me?!? :(
