WHOAAAA! Where to begin! Top 3 episode. When you’re in a hurry you come up with the best sensual descriptions! Also appearing are great phrases, “Stop drinking junk Chianti!”, “….gets a little insecty”, “..it’s becoming WLTV-The Movie” Whew!
Thanks to Erik, Chris and YOU, Gary Vay-Ner-Chuk, my brain is overflowing with all this new wine knowledge and my wallet is quickly emptying because of it. Have a fantastic trip and come back with some more specials for your devoted fans. Keep It Real, my man!

How can I not like you? You’ve made me into a wine geek in the best possible way. Here’s to another 200 episodes.

Bon voyage to my beloved France, mon frere.

Gary!! Congrats!!! This was a great episode and I will have to try that case when I get 200 bones to put into wine. QOTD: Yes.. but I think we should just be friends for now. Anyway… Dude..I’m not sure if you noticed or not.. but the trash talk on the ESPN page has already started. Bring it. j/k .. but seriously.

    Gary,
Great 200th episode. Because it was so long, I had to view it in multiple sittings. You tasted a lot of wines that I am looking forward to trying. By the way, I submitted my basketball picks. I look forward to claiming the winning prize of a 3 mixed cases consisting of 2000 Bordeaux, Rhone wines, and 1995 & 1997 Napa Valley Cabs. In order to get the prize to me, you should have my shipping address on file. You could throw in a Grange Vertical as well. Also, if you don’t mind, throw in some 2004 Bin 60A & Block 42 and maybe a d’Arenberg Dead Arm or two. Not dead bodies – DEAD ARM. I’m looking forward to my winnings.

You seem to be a likable guy. Of course, if I ever meet you I might think otherwise!! You would be more likable if you became an OSU Buckeye fan. You know, the Buckeyes have supplied the Jets with some pretty good ball players recently. GO BUCKS!!

Congrats on 200 episodes. I am looking forward to many more. I hope you keep the show going because you are a good resource of information and I am sure that you have educated many wine drinkers both novice & experienced. Keep soliciting ideas from your audience on how to keep the show fresh. Personally, I like the tastings of about 3 or 4 wines. Keep having occasional guests, and do some blind tastings every now and then. Do some verticals if you have them. Whatever you do, don’t burn out!! Don’t feel as if you have to put out a show every day. Do whatever you need to do to keep the show entertaining and informative. Thanks

168… do you have a little one coming?
I’ll echo the comments telling you to slow down to avoid burnout. I almost left my profession for good after burnout. I resolved to never let that happen, learned to pace myself. As you’ve said, the important things are family, friends, etc.
So cut back to once or twice a week for WLTV or whatever. You’re going at an insane pace, slow down before you crash. Things much more enjoyable and sustainable when done at a steady pace.

Great show! Don’t like idea that there may be an end to all of us not getting the benefits of your knowledge. I agree with earlier comments about not having to respond to all of the comments. You have a family and you cannot spend all your time with WL and WLTV. Tough to get work out of your mind when you seem to enjoy it as much as you do, but you must.

QOD – Of course. Love your enthusiam, your honesty and your knowledge. Don’t let us down by bailing out too quickly.

    life's too short...

Best. Episode. Ever. Dude! What’s not to like? You’re crazed, passionate, informative, you make children laugh, and you’re making a traditionally pretentious hobby into an accessible, fun thing to do. Oh, and you recognize that humility is a *strength* not a weakness. (Could you let a certain someone on PA Avenue in DC know that?) Cheers! – Greg

Another Canada shoutout!!!! If you like Montreal, come to Toronto and I’ll show you around, take yout to WineLibrary’s equivalent in Toronto, a wine store in a 150 year old train station.
Epic Gary….Epic…..like watching starward episode one all the way through to episode six epic. You ROck. QOTD – I love you….don’t give me that shrug like you aren’t going to do 200 more episodes!
Buy the way…I am going to mail you a kiddy raptors jersey with Carter on the back….kind of a way of meshing Canada and dirty Jersey. Also, some good “boutique” Niagara wines will arrive sometime in April as I am in the States at that time.
Again, Don’t leave us Gary…..keep brinnin’ the thunder!

Gary, this was a fantabulous episode! Loved every minute. But as for loving every second, well, there were a couple of troubling seconds in there. Like the last two. When you asked 200 more? and then did that shake of the head, my heart sank.

But then I put on my positive thinking hat and started looking at the glass half full. You meant: nah, not 200 more episodes, but 500 or 1000! Boy, am I relieved to know that’s what you meant. ;)

Yeah, we love you. Do whatever it takes to keep going. Cut back to 2 or 3 episodes a week, do NOT feel like you have to personally answer every email (though we all love seeing you in our inbox), get a freakin’ secretary, dude! Take a vacation. Whatever it takes to keep this fun and manageable for you.

Because YOU, Gary, with a little bit of us, we’re changing the wine world!

I enjoyed the marathon, and thanks for the $200.00 case theme.
QOTD: Of course we like you otherwise we wouldn’t be watching you everyday. Thanks for all your hard work and expanding my wine world.

Great episode, and congrats on the 200th.

QOTD: I can honestly say that I have seen all 200 episodes (several of them 2 or 3 times). So yes I guess you could say I like you.

  19. March 15, 2007

QOTD: Gary, absolutely – speaking as someone who only found this show a little over a month ago and admittedly being in a rut with my wine purchases, you’ve inspired me to go out and explore more – and at prices that don’t break the bank. And I know there are a few of my friends that are “lurking” out there after I told them about this site – they have told me how much fun this is and how much they are learning. I also know they appreciate what you are doing.

Hope you can keep it going – maybe you should drop down to one or two a week, I know I will still watch even if they are just 10-15 minute episodes. You are taking on a lot with the vlog/forum never mind answering so many e-mails – I’m not sure where you get the time to do your regular job! Anyway, even if the show isn’t as regular as it has been, you have built a loyal following and I’m sure it has helped spark some sales at the WL.

Finally – I hope it hasn’t been pressures from suppliers not appreciating your candor – but if so, I would certainly understand if you decided to end it rather than “qualify” your comments. Hope that is not the case – it’s got to be a tough balancing act being a critic and a retailer …

Chin up – Keep it going if you can!

Gary this was a wonderfull 200th celebration. I just wish i had 200 bones so i could buy this case of wine. They all seemed like i would enjoy them. Perhaps when uncle sam gives me my money back i could purchase them :) . That number on the board still stumps me on what it means. However after you stated 200 more nuh-uh i hope it doesnt mean once that reaches 0 its all said and done :( But however it plays out gary the vayniacs are behind your choices 100 percent. I do have to admidt i would be missing the show a great deal. But do what you gotta do Gary V and i will be with you either way!

    QOTD:
Of course I like you man. If we didnt like you we wouldnt be watching the show. The reasons i like you gary well there are many lol. You are not on the show to rate the wines high so people purchase them. You lay down the truth about how they taste and your true thoughts. You are very nice to put in your hard work blood sweat and tears into the show and not charge the vayniacs to watch. You also make the show very lively all the time and it is always fun to watch everyday. So i hope the WLTV stays strong and i will be here along the way until the end :) THANKS GARY FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO EACH DAY!!!!!!

    Trish da’ Dish,

    GREAT POST!!!!(#128)

I think you really nailed it about GV and WLTV…particularly what you said in Item #5.

But I almost always enjoy your comments & FORUM posts (my only wish is that you were on the Forum more often so I could read mor TDD posts…but I know how life can be).

P.S. thanks for the shout-out to me as well….very much appreciated!!

Gary,oh, one more thing,, isn’t it sad that the only california wine you had was 30 dollars and that seems to be the price you have
to pay for somethng interesting? Why can’t california deliver “real” wines for 10-15dollars? I mean I know there are some ,, but not too many… Why with a crappy dollar against the euro, and overseas shipping can a good wine still be bought from France or Italy for only 14 dollars? and not california..
Is it greed or real estate prices or what. what the heck is going on ?

daaaah the rest of my post got cut-off…

-Spaghetti and Pizza make up about 95% of my diet, so I appreciate the inclusion of a complementary wine. As we all know, New Jersey is the land of BYO Italian Restaurants, so a whole episode on this topic would be very cool. Maybe a local place would let you film on location….*hint*

    Great episode Gary.

-I watch each episode in the morning with my coffee, but even in my groggy state I couldn’t help but dance to the music in the beginning.

    -”Stop drinking the junk chianti!”
