Now…the real work…to watch the episode and enter all 12 Tasting Notes and ratings.

Maybe there’s an “extra” spot for SS on the August CA trip…Mmmmmmm!!! or a free tote!! LOL

That was like running a marathon. Excellent choices, but come on no Carmenere?

QOTD: Here’s a little aside about you and your show: Makin’ your way in the world today takes everything you got, takin’ a break from all your worries sure would help alot. Wouldn’t yah like to get away…..Sometimes you wanna go…….

G-man, that was an AWESOME episode. I’m going to start saving up so I can buy “The Perfect Case”. My last attempt was two cases during a free shipping offer, and it was as mediocre as my own attempts at the wine store – - I just don’t know if I can pick ‘em. Gambling doesn’t seem to pay off with wine.

This was a great marathon of an episode, and it didn’t seem that long at all when watching it – - the time absolutely flew.

QOTD: Your knowledge is what made me start watching the show (google sent me your way on a question about decanting,) but your personality is what kept me watching. What’s this end of the show BS? Seriously G-V-Ner-C, you don’t have to respond to every comment you get or every e-mail that’s sent. You’ve responded to a few of mine and seriously, man, your free time should be your free time! Take it easy when you’re on this job so you have some stamina to keep on keeping on . . . we’ll keep watching!

Happy bicentennial. So much to like …

–fresh Noblaie! I bought the ‘03, loved it, bought some more, but while I loved it it struck me as awfully ripe for a Chinon (although the smoky chocolate comes out with a vengeance on the second night). Glad it wasn’t just me.

–If I had a WLTV Bingo Card, I’d be able to stick a marker on the Grignolino spot and I swear I’d be halfway to blackout by now.

–Can’t wait to see your $100 case challenge. Just about succeeded in pulling it off last year, not a turkey in the bunch.

    –Cheap NZL pinot.

    Gary/Eric/Webmaster:

Please forgive me, since I’m not one to be petty, or be a little fem-whiner, or voice complaints over insignificant issues but I’m having problems with the ‘new’ look of the TV episode. What I would do when it was strictly a Quicktime plugin movie was to ’save it as’ for uninterupted viewing later. Now, however I believe it has to be viewed realtime, not being able to saved, and buffering/speed dependent upon internet congestion at the time of viewing. In other words, the video stops and starts depending on the available bandwidth feed to me, which makes for a much less enjoyable viewing. Is there a work-around for this? Can I save the video to my desktop like I was able to in the past and view it at my leisure, or must I get the feed realtime – everytime. Choosing the Quicktime option that is given does not allow me to save the video like I was able to in the past. Thanks.

Congratulations Gary for 200 episodes of a great show!

Gary, I more than like you. I look forward almost evey day to spending our time together. I watch you when the rest of the family are asleep so I can talk to you and yell at you. I wish you a great trip to France and look forward to your return. I got the feeling today that you are getting tired of doing the show. I hope you keep it up and don’t let yourself burn out. OK…It’s 11:21pm and the SS is done. Started @ 7:30pm and took a break for American Idol.

So, 3 hours and 20 minutes. YIKES!! (Cali in August — I figure that persistance works for Tampa..LOL)

BTW, Gary a Great, GReat episode…truley a Tour de Force performance.

But I agree w/ GeneV (#80 above) and you know I’ve expressed this too previously (interesting…I believe I said this too you around Episode #100–the whole Derek/Corte Riva thing). Please don’t burn out. I for one, would prefer you doing 3 episodes a week for the long haul rather than 5x a week for another 50 episodes. I’m pretty sure everyone would agree w/ Gene and me on this.

Thanks for all you do and have a safe trip!!

I know that we all appreciate the 200 free episodes that you have worked so hard to provide for all the vayniacs. I have a feeling that this won’t be going on forever, but I will enjoy it while it lasts!

BTW…my Red Raiders, led by the one and only Bobby Knight, are playing Boston College tomorrow in the first round of the NCAA tourney. Raider Power!!!

You mentioned that you drink your whites at room temperature to make sure nothing is hidden. Do you do this only when “tasting” wines or when you are also enjoying wines in the comfort of your home? Never really had a room temperature white wine on purpose so would be curious if this is a consistant habit of yours.

GV – I like you…but my wife didn’t like you at first. She even asked me to wear headphones when watching episodes! (We have a small apartment). But I said screw that, I’m my own man. Then, I’d hear a chuckle every now and then from her after a GV comment like: “…it tastes like a jolly rancher, but not the regular ones. the really thin ones…” Now she’s a fan and plans to enter the Vanyiac t-shirt contest.

Love the paintball reference…there’s nothing like shooting friends and loved ones.

I loved the episode and would also love a case link so I could buy the whole kit and kabbodle.

QOTD: Not only do I like you, but I respect you and what you have to say (not to mention the entertaining way you say it!). I also admire your business accumen and your ability to stay ahead of the curve. What you’ve built here is amazing. Congrats on #200! I hope there are many more WLTV episodes in the future.

Speaking of futures…I hope you have a wonderful trip to Bordeaux!

Awesome episode. Length was fine to me. I’m still catching up on old episodes, but hopefully they keep coming. Like others have said, pace yourself. Maybe doing something like this where you get to drink some wine you just feel like sharing is a good way to stay interested.
Sidenote: party at Miami University in Ohio early April featuring these wines..you’re invited Gary. (not exactly the tasting kind)
    Enjoy the trip!

Of course I like you Gary your the MAN! I love the show as well! I feel like you and the other awesome people on the forums have taught me a lot! You know in a way you are like Chateau Haut Brion, if you go to their website you can actually ask the people who make the wine questions or make comments and they reply and are actually NICE what a concept ha, well I feel like this is the case here all of the people including you Gary have been honest nice and helpful, THANK YOU all! Have fun in France I will be there this summer myself so I will have to just dream about Bordeaux for now haha. Cheers and have a safe trip.

Holy 200! Great selection for this HUGE Ep., and YOU DESERVE AN EPISODE DEDICATED TO THE WINES YOU LIKE, BIG G.!!
Also, this college boy thanks you SO MUCH for including some larger production, afordable wines in the $200 case so that I DEFFINITELY will seek out a few.

QOTD: I’ll answer a question with a question: Would I set aside time every night after waiting in snewty customers all night, making wine recommendations and pairings (that are partially inspired by the knowlege that you’ve imparted to me) to come home at 1AM or later, sit down at my computer, (sometimes pour a glass of wine) click my WLTV bookmark, devote 20…and once in a while 42 MINUTES AND 35 SECONDS (today!) to enjoy the best VLOG on the internet… IF I DIDN’T LIKE MY MAN BIG G.??? So, in closing, YES…I like Gary Vaynerchuk…at least a little bit.

CONGRATS on the big 200, and I’ll be here until there are no more episodes to view. You have my word.

Are you kidding me? QOTD? YOU ARE THE MAN!! I’ll always like you, really…since episode number 1!!Super congrats on the 200 episode. Gary, this ep. was CRYING OUT for a button called “Buy the Ultimate $200 case.” One click, no more effort needed. All these wines dumped into the shopping cart. Boom! Done. Would have pulled some cheapo fence-sitters right overboard into the drink.

  124. March 15, 2007

Congrats, absolutely great ep. I’m still catching up on back eps. Ya know, have you thought about cutting back from 5 eps a week to… 1? 2? I’ve been wondering about how you are holding up. It takes what? 2 hrs to film a 20 minute ep? 2.5 hrs? More? 5 a week is damn ambitious.

It’s a hit, you can take a break now. Change the schedule. Go on holiday. But come back and tell us what the fuh is UP!

QOTD: don’t be silly. NO wait, yes, do be silly. We like it.

Watching many episodes is gettng to be like watching my old favorite show over and over now. I’m still laughing at your ” Wine Library TV, THE MOVIE.” That was funny. I enjoyed every minute of it all as always. I’m happy you rocked with a longer version today and with all good wines.

I totally agree with comment # 90 and Steve that you’ve done more than any other single wine critic venue to influence me and I knew a bit about wine before I saw WLTV. Thank you, CONRATS on 200! I hope you’re not going out on top and that there are many more episodes to come.

Gary, I like you a LOT, and I like you because of the type of person you are:

    1.Sweet

    2.Kind

    3.A BIG-hearted sharer-you “throw us a bone” sometimes by saving us S&H $$$$

4.Unselfish and generous-you regularly acknowledge and spotlight others for the contributions they’ve made, and also you promote good causes and promote things/people on your show that won’t always benefit you or WLTV directly–

5.Off-the-charts PASSIONATE!!! Which is why you have the very best wine blog on Earth right now (I can vouch only for English-speaking sites). Your personality is totally made-for-TV because you send off such positive vibes… You are smart, au courant, have a great sense of humor, and you behave totally outrageously which I like! And I think that I speak for many when I say that it is rare to find someone who relishes living as you do. Every bite of food, every slurp of wine, you obviously try to derive the most enjoyment out of it as possible–this is why you have so many taste and odor analogies to call on when you try to describe to us how you’re experiencing the wines/cheeses (worm heads, grape Now & Laters,). Everything seems to be a passion in your life. The Jets, what you ate for dinner last night, and going to Bordeaux all seem to elict similar levels of enthusiasm.

This list could go on and on, and on….oh, YES. We like, and love, our dear TV superhero Gary V!!!!

  129. March 15, 2007

    Trish da' Dish

    Another special thanks:

Also, seeing as how this IS the 200th episode, I want to state for the record that I also like Chris Stanisci, WLTV’s loyal spreadsheet-maker, a lot. No, I’ve never actually met him, but he has saved me so much $ and he has made it so easy for me to recall Gary’s recommendations, especially when the “free shipping” has been on offer. So, thanks Chris!!!

  130. March 15, 2007

    Shotgun

Congratulations on the 200th, and an epic it was indeed. Forget retiring to Florida, I am selling the Carolina Panthers and buying not just the Wine Library but all of Springfield NJ. You are awesome, and your wines are awesome. QOD– Yeah, we all like you. You are an adorable geek. But I bet you are a pain in the ass to work for– so demanding of excellence, and all. Here’s to the next 200! Hell, the next 2000! You’ve got to keep going until your Jets win a Super Bowl (10,000 episodes?).

  131. March 15, 2007

    Gary,

PLEASE tell us that 163 is not the number of episodes left. I’ve been worrying about that for a while actually, but I never took the thought very seriously before today. And it’s such a wierd number. Just two more than that and you’d have a full year of WLTV-days. But what’s up with 363? Is it some kind of lame numerical palindrome? …Or perhaps a pyramid where the sum of the base equals the apex? (I’m really reaching here.)

In any case, I love the show, and so do my girlfriend and many of my friends and family members. You’ve touched a bunch of lives out here, and we’d really hate to see you go. By all means, cut back if you have to, or even take some lengthy breaks, but I can gaurantee that I’ll be right here when you start to miss us; and from the looks of the comments on this page, I won’t be the only one.

I’m writing this comment at five in the morning PST because I’ve spent the last TEN HOURS studying for my midterm in Anatomy & Physiology. I was very busy, and under time constraints, but there was no way I could miss the 200th episode. So I watched it in small increments during breaks. Thank you so much for the wonderful episode. I just hope I have money to spend before WL’s all sold out :) …I won’t tell anyone if you hide some 2004 La Noblaie Chinon in the back for me ;)

Are the Vayniaks getting a little too needy? It sounds like people are asking you to be nothing more than a guy who gives them insider’s tips on great ‘under-the-radar’ values. Please feel free to tell us to shove it whenever we cramp your style. I think most of us just love the show and want you to keep doing it, in whatever way fulfills you the most.

Do I like you? I do. And even if TODAY was the last episode, I’d always remember you and your crazy show fondly.

Gary, Great episode Kudos on 200. How would you like to do an episode on wines that you think may
have been “acidified” or otherwise overly manipulated by the winemaker and how to tell if you think
the acidity is fake or real.. same with sugar enrichment?

    Great episode Gary.

daaaah the rest of my post got cut-off…

-Spaghetti and Pizza make up about 95% of my diet, so I appreciate the inclusion of a complementary wine. As we all know, New Jersey is the land of BYO Italian Restaurants, so a whole episode on this topic would be very cool. Maybe a local place would let you film on location….*hint*

Gary,oh, one more thing,, isn’t it sad that the only california wine you had was 30 dollars and that seems to be the price you have
to pay for somethng interesting? Why can’t california deliver “real” wines for 10-15dollars? I mean I know there are some ,, but not too many… Why with a crappy dollar against the euro, and overseas shipping can a good wine still be bought from France or Italy for only 14 dollars? and not california..
Is it greed or real estate prices or what. what the heck is going on ?

    GREAT POST!!!!(#128)

I think you really nailed it about GV and WLTV…particularly what you said in Item #5.

Gary this was a wonderfull 200th celebration. I just wish i had 200 bones so i could buy this case of wine. They all seemed like i would enjoy them. Perhaps when uncle sam gives me my money back i could purchase them :) . That number on the board still stumps me on what it means. However after you stated 200 more nuh-uh i hope it doesnt mean once that reaches 0 its all said and done :( But however it plays out gary the vayniacs are behind your choices 100 percent. I do have to admidt i would be missing the show a great deal. But do what you gotta do Gary V and i will be with you either way!

    QOTD:
Of course I like you man. If we didnt like you we wouldnt be watching the show. The reasons i like you gary well there are many lol. You are not on the show to rate the wines high so people purchase them. You lay down the truth about how they taste and your true thoughts. You are very nice to put in your hard work blood sweat and tears into the show and not charge the vayniacs to watch. You also make the show very lively all the time and it is always fun to watch everyday. So i hope the WLTV stays strong and i will be here along the way until the end :) THANKS GARY FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO EACH DAY!!!!!!

  142. March 15, 2007

QOTD: Gary, absolutely – speaking as someone who only found this show a little over a month ago and admittedly being in a rut with my wine purchases, you’ve inspired me to go out and explore more – and at prices that don’t break the bank. And I know there are a few of my friends that are “lurking” out there after I told them about this site – they have told me how much fun this is and how much they are learning. I also know they appreciate what you are doing.

Hope you can keep it going – maybe you should drop down to one or two a week, I know I will still watch even if they are just 10-15 minute episodes. You are taking on a lot with the vlog/forum never mind answering so many e-mails – I’m not sure where you get the time to do your regular job! Anyway, even if the show isn’t as regular as it has been, you have built a loyal following and I’m sure it has helped spark some sales at the WL.

Finally – I hope it hasn’t been pressures from suppliers not appreciating your candor – but if so, I would certainly understand if you decided to end it rather than “qualify” your comments. Hope that is not the case – it’s got to be a tough balancing act being a critic and a retailer …

Chin up – Keep it going if you can!

Gary, this was a fantabulous episode! Loved every minute. But as for loving every second, well, there were a couple of troubling seconds in there. Like the last two. When you asked 200 more? and then did that shake of the head, my heart sank.

But then I put on my positive thinking hat and started looking at the glass half full. You meant: nah, not 200 more episodes, but 500 or 1000! Boy, am I relieved to know that’s what you meant. ;)

Yeah, we love you. Do whatever it takes to keep going. Cut back to 2 or 3 episodes a week, do NOT feel like you have to personally answer every email (though we all love seeing you in our inbox), get a freakin’ secretary, dude! Take a vacation. Whatever it takes to keep this fun and manageable for you.

Because YOU, Gary, with a little bit of us, we’re changing the wine world!

Buy the way…I am going to mail you a kiddy raptors jersey with Carter on the back….kind of a way of meshing Canada and dirty Jersey. Also, some good “boutique” Niagara wines will arrive sometime in April as I am in the States at that time.

Best. Episode. Ever. Dude! What’s not to like? You’re crazed, passionate, informative, you make children laugh, and you’re making a traditionally pretentious hobby into an accessible, fun thing to do. Oh, and you recognize that humility is a *strength* not a weakness. (Could you let a certain someone on PA Avenue in DC know that?) Cheers! – Greg

Great show! Don’t like idea that there may be an end to all of us not getting the benefits of your knowledge. I agree with earlier comments about not having to respond to all of the comments. You have a family and you cannot spend all your time with WL and WLTV. Tough to get work out of your mind when you seem to enjoy it as much as you do, but you must.

QOD – Of course. Love your enthusiam, your honesty and your knowledge. Don’t let us down by bailing out too quickly.

  152. March 15, 2007

168… do you have a little one coming?
I’ll echo the comments telling you to slow down to avoid burnout. I almost left my profession for good after burnout. I resolved to never let that happen, learned to pace myself. As you’ve said, the important things are family, friends, etc.
So cut back to once or twice a week for WLTV or whatever. You’re going at an insane pace, slow down before you crash. Things much more enjoyable and sustainable when done at a steady pace.

  153. March 15, 2007

    Ken

    Gary,
Great 200th episode. Because it was so long, I had to view it in multiple sittings. You tasted a lot of wines that I am looking forward to trying. By the way, I submitted my basketball picks. I look forward to claiming the winning prize of a 3 mixed cases consisting of 2000 Bordeaux, Rhone wines, and 1995 & 1997 Napa Valley Cabs. In order to get the prize to me, you should have my shipping address on file. You could throw in a Grange Vertical as well. Also, if you don’t mind, throw in some 2004 Bin 60A & Block 42 and maybe a d’Arenberg Dead Arm or two. Not dead bodies – DEAD ARM. I’m looking forward to my winnings.

You seem to be a likable guy. Of course, if I ever meet you I might think otherwise!! You would be more likable if you became an OSU Buckeye fan. You know, the Buckeyes have supplied the Jets with some pretty good ball players recently. GO BUCKS!!

Congrats on 200 episodes. I am looking forward to many more. I hope you keep the show going because you are a good resource of information and I am sure that you have educated many wine drinkers both novice & experienced. Keep soliciting ideas from your audience on how to keep the show fresh. Personally, I like the tastings of about 3 or 4 wines. Keep having occasional guests, and do some blind tastings every now and then. Do some verticals if you have them. Whatever you do, don’t burn out!! Don’t feel as if you have to put out a show every day. Do whatever you need to do to keep the show entertaining and informative. Thanks

QOD: “Do you like me?” Sounds like a song in Fiddler On the Roof, no? (”DO I WHAT?”). Well, I probably would if you’re anything in real life like your online persona. You seem to be a lot of fun, but you definitely also have a sensitive side (why else would you even give a damn if we like you or not)? You’re into sports, wine (a little), great food and restaurants in NYC, so it also seems that we have a lot in common.

    BTW, have fun in Bordeaux.

Gary- If you must know, your affiable nature coupled with your frustrated comedic timing make you one of the easiest guys to like in the known universe. Now, if you can only find a way to continue to deliver your show without overdoing it, we will all continue to benefit from your effort…

    Yes, I like you.
Why do you think I am still
    watching/downloading your eps?
There are some podcasts out there

    Gary on WLTV is a
    KEEPER!!

SUPER SHOW!!!! You worked hard on this one and it was memorable; the price range puts these wines within the reach of “the rest of us.” I’ll be referring back to this episode many times.

    Lawrence Leichtman

What’s not to like eh? This episode is exactly why I like WLTV. A great take on wines, many of which I’ve never had. Trying to find a wine that would not stink up a Seder is always a challenge. This inspired me to try several of the wines mentioned. Thanks for 200. Looking forwar to at least a few thousand more.

QOTD: I do like you… And your pink shirt.

  171. March 15, 2007

    Thanks Gary,
I like you in a manly way…I like Canada too, we’ve got great wine but no pink, (I mean rose’) shirts.

  172. March 15, 2007

    Carlitos

Congratulations on the 200 episodes! Here’s looking at the next 2000!

Great tour de force tasting through those 12 wines! At least they were your choice and we got no stinkers. Thank you for the excellent selection of values in our price range. I loved the country choices too. 3 from Spain, 2 from New Zealand, Italy and France, and 1 from Argentina, USA and Canada. I guess that tells you where to get your quality value wines. And the Petit Sirah was not a real value at 32 bones!

QOTD. Of course we like you, with your few defects and many virtues. That’s why you have 20,000 people watching. Wow!

    Thanks for everything you do!

  173. March 15, 2007

    GV,
Thought you were tasting the Hammond tonight as part of the mixed bag tasting? no?

  174. March 15, 2007

    Bohi

    Hey G, THANK YOU!

I do like you because you have love for the wine newbies and lurkers. I’ve always been interested in wine but I could never find that jumping off point, I always felt so “out of the loop”. Well you brought me in the loop then put me in a headlock and gave me a noogie and I couldn’t be happier. It’s strange to say but my life has improved in real verifiable ways since I started watching your show so again, thanks.

What’s with no to 200 more is that what the countdown is for? The end of Wltv? Say it aint so Gary! What else will I listen to when I do entry for the site?

    Gary,

Forty two minutes of fun! Thanks for picking the perfect $200 case; which offered some surprises for me.

Have a good time in France.

    Congrats on 200 episodes…I have been a semi-lurker for 50 of them!
QOD – I like you cause you have personality, you know your wine, you are real, you are a jock and you have stop using the “air quotes”.

Congrats on having a great show.

  181. March 15, 2007

    Like 'em Rounded and Aged

I tried the Tintoralba last night. I was not as impressed by it as much as you and Parker were. It is clearly a food wine and not meant to be consumed without something on the palate. Nonetheless, it struck me as being a bit disjointed with a bit too harsh a tannin and acid structure even after this number of years and being opened for a couple hours. I don’t suspect the tannins will ever really resolve themselves before the fruit falls apart. I would never have confused this wine with a $20 to $40 Bordeaux, the flavors and style screamed Mediterranean Sea, not Gironde River. Nonetheless there were some nice things about it, especially for its price point. 88-89 points

FANTASTIC episode. Great stuff. Thanks Gary. I hope you were shaking your head at the end because 200 more is not going to happen, 10,000 more is!

    WLTV cannot end.

And the QOTD is a no brainer. My answer: of course!

  183. March 15, 2007

    Sebaf74

Gary, first of all QOD: Of course we like you! That is the reason why we watch an episode that lasted more than 40 minutes ;-)

I didn’t like the last phrase though, why do you mean there won’t be 200 more? Please don’t make us beg.

Anyway, congratulations on Episode 200, it was awesome. Have a great time in France and see you soon.

Great episode I watched every minute(on three separate sittings). I plan on trying most of these wines($200 for the case, right on) .I appreciate all the work you put into this episode, and the 199 prior , I started watching about 60 episodes ago and haven’t missed one since. I hope there will be at least 200 more . QOTD of coarse

    Gary,
Great episode! Happy 200th! Love the HBO “Real Sex” background music. You must be a fan. I, however am a huge fan of YOURS. THANK YOU for all that you do for us. Please don’t burn yourself out. Do one episode a week if you have to. I know you love doing the show, but don’t kill yourself over it. We, the fans, would not want that to happen because……

QOD – Of course I like you, just not “that” way. (It’s not you, it’s me).

Nice 200th Episode Gary! Love the format. The perfect $200 case of wine – makes me want to buy all 12 of them and have my own little tasting party.

    Gary,

Loved the 200th episode!! And of course we like you Gary…I think you should make t-shirts that read, ” I heart Wine Library TV”- but put a heart symbol in the middle instead of “heart”. They would be a HIT!! Just an idea…

Happy Birthday or something like that! Fun show. I have been watching since December and am in the process of planning a 1000 bottle wine cellar that I expect to finish in a year. I will keep watching with the intent of trying to learn enough to stock the cellar over time.

Who else turned me on to Two Up Shiraz for $12, Concannon Petit Sirah for $10, and yes, Wooden Nickel PS?
I learned thru you and thru WLTV that I love syrah from both new world makers, as well as from Northern Rhone regions, such as St Joseph. You are the bomb! That’s why the Vayniac-Nation is alive and well and living in not just Katonah, but also in the far reaches of the globe.

    Gary,

    KUDOS!! KUDOS!! KUDOS!!

Congratulations on episode 200!! Been there since day 1 and episodes keep getting better!!

QOTD: You’re the best!! I really appreciate your efforts on taking time out every day and putting together a WLTV episode. You’ve really educated me on so many different aspects of wine. You bring so many great qualities to the table. Your shows are not only informative, but entertaining too!! Excellent, excellent job!!

The one thing I don’t like about WLTV is wines sell out too fast!! I can no longer just grow my cart and then checkout when I come to the store. ;) I have to checkout more often!!

  202. March 16, 2007

    WINO

QOTD- Of course we like you. Who else would we sit and watch drink for 45 minutes!!!!

Great episode. THanks for giving us some wines that have a great QPR and bring the noise and bring the funk. Will definitley try out the Hammond PN and the Tintoralba. Maybe the Wooden Nickel too.

    Enjoy France.

  203. March 16, 2007

FINALLY finished this ep. Already had several of these and bought some more today, will have to pick up the Longaz, too.

Congrats on 200. But we’re looking for the Vaynernod when you say “200 more”.

We like you, GV. You know that.

    Gary,
Congratulations on the big 200, and special thanks to all the Vayniacs who keep the show strong — Brandon, SS Chris, Eric, Paul, Stallion, Kahuna, Susan, and yes even a little bit of Jason Hicks. Excellent show and highly appropriate all the way through the lonnnggg finish. QOTD: In my car I was crawling down West 78 in the icy muck of today’s storm (I had just picked up my wife from the airport after she spent half the day there and they ended up canceling her flight). Suddenly as that big WL billboard came into view with the grinning Gary Vaynerchuck holding the glass out toward the world to take a swirl and a sniff, my wife commented “I haven’t seen you smile like that in weeks!!!” So… OF COURSE I like you, ya big goof! Best, CK

Gary and Ian, the “gel” brothers. Let’s measure and see who has the most distance from scalp to peak. There’s a real contest. No need for any March Madness.

Congratulations and Thanks to you and your crew for 200! And thanks to Chris Stan/SS Chris for his ever handy spreadsheet.

and, yes, Stuart Smalley, darn it, I like you!

Enjoy the wine tasting and the dealmaking (which do you like more??) in Bordeaux.

Do I like you? Gary, I’m catching up on this week’s episodes with the NCAA Tournament on TV on mute so I won’t be distracted! Thank you for all the fun and passion over 200 episodes.

    Great show Gary!

As one of your loyal lurkers, I had to come out and congratulate you on such an outstanding performance…not only today, but for these past 200 episodes. You have educated us like no one else could…it is so much fun learning about these different wines that most of us would probably never think of trying. Your enthusiasm for wine is very contagious and you make it very enjoyable to watch…even 42 minutes worth.

Keep it coming…based on these comments we’re all pretty much hooked!!

QOTD: I think everyone here loves you…you give us plenty of great reasons why we just need to buy just one more case of wine.

PS: My wife unknowingly thanks you too…she thinks I’m a wine genius!!

  212. March 18, 2007

    Hey Gary,

I’ve gotta say I have had you off the radar for so long. Just stopped watching after that classic training your palate episode. I thought nothing could top that. But good to see a real great episode 200… You’ve inspired me and I’ve got an announcement for you in late April…

I was talking to an owner of a very large Napa winery last week about you and he told me that you were crazy and the other owners can’t stand you(for more than 5 minutes). I took this as a good thing that you likely bust their chops to get great pricing to pass on to us your loyal customers.
You’re on the right side don’t ever change.
Noah was a drunk (Wino)and he was God’s favorite. So that must make you some kind of Prophet.

QOTD: You know we do; now do you have to ask? I know you are not sure.
Episode 200 has to be one of my favorite and just got better with
the twelve wine of episode 200 that just arrived. I hope the twelve
will help me understand were gary is coming from, do I open all
twelve and watch the episode or one bottle at a time? .. tnx Gary.

Congratulations on another epic episode of WLTV. As a long time lurker, I hope you keep this going for 200 more. There’s something in every episode and an episode for everyone. We may help change the wine world, but you’ve single-handedly changed the online wine buying experience.

  220. March 23, 2007

    tarheel17

Sooo, Gary. . .do you evern get *toasty* drinking an entire case of wine?? Can you confess to being a tad off-kilter in any of your previous episodes?? Or am I the only one who starts to feel the effects of the magic juice after a few sips. . .?
    Just wondering.
Of course I like you Gary. I wouldn’t watch 4 episodes in a row (including the 40+ min one) to catch up while on vacation if I didn’t!

Like you? I love you. I was one of those people drinking crappy chianti all the time and now I get something i’ve never tried before every time I hit the wine store. My horizons have been expanded exponentially. And hey, I actually like the longer episodes, maybe you should try to throw one in every week or two. It’s just too bad you’re a Jets fan……

Great episode and you’ve completely enhanced my wine experience. And that is the first rhetorical question I’ve heard you ask so far. Like is an understatement!
Seeking out the Wooden Nickel Petit Sirah immediately. My father-in-law (who loves wine) lost his dad this past fall and one of the recurring quotes people were repeating at the service was one that he had said throughout his life about wooden nickels. When you read the quote on the back of the bottle, I realized a bottle of this wine will be a PERFECT gift for my father-in-law. Hope the 2004 is as good as the 2003.

  233. February 24, 2008

WLTV causes face melting at my house! Of course we “stayed with you” til the end of this tasting marathon. I now catch myself buying wines I never would have even noticed before, all because of WLTV. And I love it! Recently I called “green bell peppers” on a Sauv Blanc from NZ and my husband swiped the bottle and read the back of it, and yes! Good call, wife! Moments like this come courtesy of my palate expanding via WLTV. And you’ve just passed Episode 600, what do you think of that?!
