QoD: 2005 Jekel Vineyards Monterey County Pinot Noir, $17, is what it is. I like it, nice cherry fruit with good balance of acidity with the fruit, spice, and loamy soil & asparagus. In this price range I would totally reccomend Australia’s Hill of Content Pinot Noir which has it all going on and I know most of you out there wouldn’t go near Pinot under $30, but that one brings it. Stop by Wegmans and show us love. Peace! Gary, you eat shellfish? that’s not kosher. Happy Holidays!

QOTD: Not having wine tonight. Struggling to give up wine for lint. Having water, maybe some decaf iced tea. Gary, run a survey to find out how many people are giving up wine as sacrifice

Another comment I’ve been meaning to make to everyone complaining about problems viewing the episodes: It’s your computer and/or internet connection. I never have a problem viewing.

Had the Pillar Red Box last week. Definitely overrated. Over-the-top fruit driven borderline artificial flavored

Tonight I’m drinking a Radio-Coteau syrah. Eric Sussman is a very, very capable ‘winegrower’. Look ‘em up!

Gary, the glass that you used today is a Bordeaux glass. Concepción and I have a couple of those, and they are probably our favorite glasses to drink our wine out of.

Been a long time since I posted. Great episode to re-enter the field. I will be stopping into WL this week to pick up some Bordeaux – you really piqued my interest again. Don’t know if I’ll go for the Mondotte, but i will definitely be treating myself.
QOTD: 2000 Ch. Tour de Segur (from WL) – totally coincidental. Not a great bordeaux, but OK.

Vayniacs will definitely break 400 tonight!

To weigh in on the Pillar Box – I think it is overrated. Bought a bottle this weekend – had a half of a glass and poured the rest out. Totally over it. I may not have had the best frame of mind…I was dehydrated and tired from snowboarding all day. Still, my judgement was not that far off.
