Top 500? Yes! Informative episode, but had that feeling that I should be taking notes in prep for mid-terms. QOTD? Beer (pairing with sushi).

    QOTD . Inspired by yesterday’s episode and had a Sancere – 04 Domaine Reverdy-Ducroux .

Not a big Bordeaux or Cab drinker but intrigued to try more after today’s episode.

Wow- Looks like you win the bet with that co-worker at WL, Big G! Congrats- the mass e-mail was clever. Also, geat Ep. as always and I was waiting to hear about Bordeaux.
QUESTION FOR BIG G: (as if you’ll even be able to read this among all the others) What 2005 Bordeaux would you recommend for the under $20 range? (possibly something that I can find around Boston because MA won’t let WL deliver!) I’ve seen a couple at my local wine shop, but I don’t want to be fooled by the 2005 sticker and buy something that just isn’t wrth the money.

QOTD: 2006 Chateau Lamothe de Haux (Bordeaux white blend)

Damn, I got comment 420, and didn’t notice before I could throw in some stupid pot jokes. Such an opportunity squandered!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Wow! Nice big glass tonight — it’s pretty much as big as your head! I’m impressed.

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could have it make your forehead super big when you smell the wine, like when we were kids in those carnival fun house mirrors? Does Chris know CGI? That would be sooo cool!

Anyway, since we’re doing visuals here, the shirt looked pink/light blue/purple tonight, although I’m sure it’s white. That’s great for SF, but Jersey?

QOTD: southern italy, and some Bogle. Yum.

Great one, Gary. You wanted comments, you got comments!

QOTD: No wine for me tonight. Scotch! Tasty tasty Scotch! 19 year Macallan to be exact. Smoke, caramel, a little oak, a little bit of peat (but not much), and something akin to espresso-coated violets. The last one is a little weird I know, but it’s late and that’s what I’m tasting. Good good stuff. Not my Johnny Walker Blue… but I can’t pour that out on a Tuesday night. :-)

03 Casa Emma! Thanks to you and Brandon….with Eggplant and chicken parmesean. Fantastic juice that I would have never known about without WLTV!

Great show today GV. You remind me of a pair of shoes that just got a fresh coat of polish. You seem a little more refined on the tasting action after a run with the big dogs in Bordeaux…

Gary, great episode! Made me want to buy every 2005 Bordeaux future out there.

Tonight, drank some leftovers from yesterday’s Zaca Mesa Z Cuvee 2004. Nice little cherry bomb. Then a shot of Grand Marnier in my Riedel Vinum Bordeaux glass. Want to talk about legs? Put some GM in your wine glass. Silky heat.

Anyway, glad to have you back in the US (to paraphrase the Beatles).

So glad to have you back, Gary! Great episode!!! Love all the info about Bordeaux, look forward to what’s coming! QOD: Tonight, wanted a Paulliac…instead, settled for a lovely little Zin from a local winery in my neighborhood. Tonight, it’s 2003 Joseph Filippi Cucamonga Valley Zin. One of my favorite wines of all time. Have a case, and we’re hoarding it, as there is no more of this vintage. We have one of the last cases.

WOW this episode was a veritable cornicopia of information, a plethora of factiods, in other words as my favorite high school english teacher would say “a fuckload” of data about Bordeaux!! (I hope this doesn’t get me censored.) Great great show Gary!!!!!!!!!!!
QOTD:Opened a 1999 Boxler Sommerberg grand Cru Riesling I got recently for $28 bones and I must say it was a dissapointment. I had a waaay better Boxler this Fall in Napa, more recent vintage. Not bringing the thunder for some reason. I gave it an 88.

First timer. My son told me about Wine Library, so I checked out the site. Been lurking for a few days now. Watched about a dozen episodes and was really rocked by #148. It’s a classic. Excellent episode today. Looked for the Chat Bernadotte 2003 ($18.99) locally and saw it On Sale for $26.49 !!! Guess I’ll be making a trip to Springfield this weekend . Jets 27, Cowboys 23.

Holly Smoke!! Looks like everyone has withdrawal symptoms from Gary V. Great episode. I’ve been drinks some home brew 2005 Cab Sav lately ($4 a bottle baby!! Talk about value wine!! 88pts) Not very complex, but smooth on the tannins and you know, I think i taste some dirty gummy worms. You know, the type that you dropped on the floor, kissed up to god and ate, yaa dirty gummy worms. Welcome back to the state and congrads to Steve K on the new addition.

Great range of Bordeaux tonight Gary. Hoping I’m # 409…QOTD 75 Joseph Swan Chard with fresh Tuna [wishing I had fresh Abalone as served by Joe the first time I tasted it - oh, well...] and a 2001 Rosemount Australian Shiraz with some cheese. “A meal without cheese is like a woman with only one eye.” Picasso? cubist period?

QOTD: Tonight I open my next to last bottle of the 2001 Patricia Green Balcombe Block 1B. This wine is clearly in it’s peak. If you have any 2001’s from Paty Green crack one to see what you think.
Nose: Dusty boots in a fresh tilled field. You can almost smell the rocks and greenery that has been churned up for the planting season. A heavy raspberry scent with a light coat of cinnimon leads to the smell of a cracked cherry that makes your cheeks pucker just thinking about it.
Taste: In the mouth this is extreemely seductive and smooth. There is a nice ballance and the acid is ever so slightly dominant as flavors of wild strawberries and carmalized sugar come through. This is a very rustic wine both in the nose and in the mouth….a superb effort.
Finish: is 20-30+ seconds and coats your mouth like a blanket coats your bed in the cold of winter. Drink over the next 18 months for peak quality.
    92+ points.

hey, got your response email when I was traveling back from Boston. Completely unexpected off a mass email, give you 98 points for that…

As for the last one, sounds unfrickenbelievable! How dare you rinse your glass into the spittoon. Why not let your cameraman drink it? Or pour it into your glass and raffle it off?! It’s a 98 point wine for jeezuz sake!!!
