Almost a year late, but just watched the episode. Don't know what I'm drinking tonight yet. Having a friend over that I deployed to Indonesia with for six months tonight. I'm making rack of lamb and he is bringing the wine. Looking forward to it.

Just tried the 2000 Chat La Vieille Cure Fronsac along with a 2003 Châteauneuf du Pape Clos du Mont Olivet "Cuvee des Papet" last night. Both were a little fruity with soft tannins and low acidity. The Chateauneuf of course had a more layered herbal nose, but for almost half the price, the Vieille Cure was pretty good!

QOTD- Last night I drank Braut & Sistra Cab Sonoma 2002.

I am still in the first yers of drinking wine but am turned off just by the description of those Bordeaux wines. I tried the Chateau Cantelys that you raved about and thought it smelled like garbage and dirty feet. Maybe that was what they were going for but I thought it was gross. This might be a region that I need to stay away from which might be better for my wallet in the long run. Any that you could suggest that are a good blend between California and Bordeaux?
