QOTD: It would have to be the time I took a class in jr high where we went to the grade school next door and worked with challeneged kids. Helping them swim in the pool or getting them to spell out a word was just uplifting. Its amazing to see how different life is when you make a difference in someones life like that. ..... I love the tasting notes on the Xarel-lo and the Bride. Im still new to wines so Im trying my best to expand past desserts, ports, and whites. Nice job on the spilling on yourself, I think this was finally the first episode where you really got yourself.

QOTD - Coaching youth sports. It's amazing to see how you can impact a kid's life or even better, a dozen of them at a time.

Hmmm...guess I should have watched the ep before I answered the QOTD. Non family related huh...well, I'll go with a recent one. A little while back I bought a new brand of dog food that my dog just wasn't down with but it was good dog food (i.e. expensive) and I didn't just want to throw it away so I put it in my car with the thought of giving it to a homeless guy with a dog that I usually see on my way to the gym in the morning. I had that bag of dog food in my car for three months at least without seeing the homeless guy and I was tempted to throw the bag away almost every week but I didn't. I still haven't seen the homeless guy that I had in mind but I happened to run into a different homeless guy with a dog last week and I gave him the bag and he was so grateful and the poor little dog was so skinny; it couldn't have felt much righter.

Boy I'm really glad this is a show about wine and not Gary's musical tastes! I can't handle when you bring the thunder with Ronstadt ;)

Yuw. Nice this Xarello. Spains whites are as much undervalued as the Italian whites. Think for instance of Naia, Naiades and Ossian from Rueda, all 100% pre-phyllox Verdejo. I did not know what I drank first time I had it. Incredible and unique.
QOTD: quit studying biology after three years and start again with Germanic languages. Huge turn, but worth it every second. Would do it again.
C ya.

I know you meant "spouse" not "sibling", nice episode.

QOTD: Betting against the Jets in the first round of the 2006 playoffs.

QOTD: Last year when I took on the job of a swim coach in addition to my full time job, girlfriend, and workout regimen, I thought what the hell am I doing... Giving up most of my weekends, working 4 nights a week... It was absolutely killing me. Until we had our first swim meet. I think our kids just swam good to make me realize that this job is the $hit and I love it a ton! Watching kids progress because of your hard work is the best feeling in the world. Now I can't wait to have kids of my own... but it's gonna be a LOOOOONG while!!

Nice ep Gary, and great QOTD, let everyone reflect. Now I'm gonna have to find some of that Black Bart's Wife... and not in that way! lol

QOTD... I Left the big job in the city and moved to the country where people watch out for each other. Now building my own house on a small island, with my own hands. Some things are much more important than money.
