I was curious to see what you would think of the Kim Crawford since it's always been a standard for me and Mike Steinberger bashed it and Sauv Blanc in general in Slate! That said it can be over the top on grass and grapefruit. But with all that crispness and acidity its still 100% better than any Cali Sauv Blanc. Was at Babcock last weekend and wasn't impressed by any of the whites (a Pinot Blanc with a malolactic flavor?), but the reds were awesome. Picked up a $40 Fathom, although strangely I liked it because it reminded me of a $15 Bourgeuil! The Babcock Cuvee cab is also a steal with lots of spice for $22. Great episode.
