QOTD: I’m taking a disproportionately large number of classes so I can graduate by august. Thus, I will be drinking a disproportionately large amount of vino to compensate.

oh, and when will that shwag be available for purchase?

PS. Your cameo on the last diggnation made me spit my drink out, that was utterly brilliant.

Gary, love the show!! I just found your website about a week ago and I’m very impressed with what you are showing us all. I’ve seen your shows on the decanting, Ports, and most recently, the Girard Petite Sirah. I’ve been looking all over to find this bottle, and coming up ZILCH. I’ll keep looking, you keep on making these fantastic shows for us.

    BTW.. GO PHINS!!!!!!! :)

    Gimme dat T-shirt!

    LOL

I just got back from NYC, visited Vintage New York in SoHo. At the tasting bar, I used the classic Gary line about wine having a tattoo and being tougher than we think and able to stay on the counter overnight. Nobody got it. I can’t believe there are wine lovers that don’t watch WineLibraryTv like a crack habit.

Now I’m off to be a part of the Golden Nose wine judging in Hornell this weekend. Maybe I’ll even change the wine world a little!

This is my first second comment. Of course I appreciate the “ugli fruit” reference. (That is the proper spelling, by the way, with an “i” and not a “y”.) Citrus isn’t only lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit. I don’t quite remember, but have you used my favorite–”Bergamot”–the citrus flavoring in Earl Grey tea?

“Smells like ugly fruit”? Yes, I think I know what you mean Gary. Ugly fruit can be a little tangy on the nose (and tongue).

Hi Gary, When you dumped the dimes in the VPG, I laughed so hard I fell off my treadmill! Thanks for helping me through my 45 min. a day, by the way. As a pastry chef, I really need the workout.
QOTD: I’ll be catering weddings for people who care about organic, local, gorgeous, fresh food and fair trade buying, I’ll be swimming naked in the Illinois River in southern Oregon, and I’ll be keeping my two blond little boys out of the blazing summer sun.
Thanks for the fun! Get outside! Go to the water gap or something! -Kate

Am I the only person that caught the fact that Gary called the first wine “Putes Moret”….um…Thats not a very nice statement in French BTW…but it DOES go along with the Women wearing makeup comment directly after :)

Hey, Vihno Verde, I had a vihno verde last month and loved it. Do you have any recommendations? I’ve read that you need to get the most recent vintage possible as it is meant to be imbibed while it is still young.

It is such a refreshing, epervescent wine, great for summer weather!

You forgot the cellar times GV! (besides leaving the Voga at the store)

Summer in the lab. Higher ups are calling for data. My $0.02: When I think summer RED I think chilled Brouilly. Worth a show?

Just watched my first episode (238) today. I heard about you on the diggnation show. I love it. I signed up for cork’d and added you as a friend.

My favorite wine for summer is Omni Red (http://corkd.com/wine/view/7853-Omni_Red) a sparkling shiraz. It’s great and bubbly. You’ve gotta get it chilled fully or else you’ll have a red mess in your house. You’ve never opened one before, it’s best to do it outside the first time. :)

    Gary,

Well I am obviously late to this posting party; but great show as usual. My wife is really into summer whites so I guess I gotta get with it. Thanks for the info.

QOTD: The beach, Vegas, and alot of outdoor activities.

    Thanks for WLTV!

QOTD: You know you could watch two WLTV reruns per day, and not have enough days in the summer to get through them all?! Yah remember from the few first episodes, so well-mannered and professional, with wine lectures and what-not. ;)

On the agenda for this summer: keeping nonprofit afloat (and therefore keeping my job afloat), reviewing at least a hundred wines on Cork’d, returning to life on the porch – tragically interrupted every year by cold weather.

Hey Gary! Love the new format…. I tried Voga at a wine tasting..the cool bottle lured me in, but I hated the wine too…. QOD – summer, lots of fun things trips, pool, lake, shore, parties, etc, etc.

    Hi GV,

Sorry for the delay; I’ve been out of town and am leaving again tomorrow. Funny you should bring up the Voga. One of our friends brought that very (ugly) bottle over the other day and convinced my wife that it was worth drinking. I stayed away but now regret doing so given your score. 48 points for a pinot grigio is actually pretty high by my reckoning. :^)

QUOT: Golf and hoop-it-up and renovating part of my house while praying that my back holds up.

Btw, can longer comments by windbags like me count double?
