Nice shout out to Santa Claus. Definitely think he doesn’t get enough props in the bloggosphere. Great to see you back, lookin in prime. Enough can’t be said enough about Rioja. There are some fantastic wines coming outta there, so much history, and yet so much potential for that region and others in Spain.

QOTD: want to try some Japanese wine over a bill. I’ve tried a number for around 10 to 20 to 40 bucks but haven’t been terribly impressed and am wondering if I’m just not paying enough for a good Muscat Belly A or Koshu. We’ll see.

I’d love to try the 2002 Sine Qua Non – Just for the Love of It Syrah, or anything by that winery really

I was going to say nice episode, but then you have to go and make that comment about the Giants.
    How about trying this wine:

    Good to have you back….
QOTD – I’d love to see you taste a 1961 Latour side by side a 1990 Latour and show the effect of age on these wines from amazing vintages and producers. You could also do the 1945 Mouton and the 1986 Mouton or whatever but that is the idea. I want something moucho serious (1900 Margaux/ 2000 Margaux woud also be cool!)

First of all welcome back!!! Enjoy San Fran but above all enjoy your vacation!!! Greece… ooo I’d love it.

QOTD: Continuing my Vino Nobile fascination… any Vino Nobile Reserva from my birth year, 1975.

    Or maybe some Harlan Estate

I appreciate any Spanish wine show, I have been drinking Rioja as far as I remember, it has never let me down. The Montecillo was my go to wine for a while back in the 90’s, I have been away from it, but I still have some mid 90’s left that I will revisit soon, in particular now that you reminded me with this show.
QOTD: I have been chasing the opportunity to try L’ermita Alvaro Palacios Priorat for a while now. Is very pricy and I still have not found any bottles to be tempted with around here.

Good to see you back, but everyone needs a break now and then. I’ll have to try a Rioja sometime soon.

QOTD – The best Ice Wine from Germany would be my choice. I’ve had a Canadian version, but can’t afford the German juice.

    Welcome back Gary!

QOTD: I’d like to try the 2005 Chateau d’Yquem

Woo hoo, WLTV is back! Nice rioja episode. I didn’t know whites could last that long (german rieslings and botrytized wines excluding)!

QOTD: I’d have to say 1990 Romanée Conti. Not that’s ever actually going to happen.

What’s with the “h’y” “j” in Rioja? Speak English!!!

Kiddin’. Nice to see these reviewed and to see your mug back on the net. Thanks for the ep.

Today’s QOTD finally drew out this lurker…

QOTD: Really want to try a world-class riesling. Have tried entry-to-mid level rieslings and haven’t understood the attraction. The descriptions of “racy acidity” make me keep trying. I’m sure I’ve just not had the right one yet.

Maybe this is the one: http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=9844

HE’S BACK!!! Great Rioja Ep, Señor Big G.

QOTD: I’d love to taste an aged Bordeaux from a classic vintage (such as an ‘86 or ‘89) because, like the rest of the American public, I tend to drink relatively young wines with no experiences of how bottle age can affect a classic wine. Other than that, I make it a point to never purchase the same wine twice, because the “wine world” that I’m trying to change (with a little help from Big. G.) is a big one… and I’ve only begun to explore it.

  22. May 22, 2007

    Panoca

Still very happy for being a top ten for the first time (after many top 20 and 50!!).
QOTD: i always wanted it to try a first cru Bordeaux, but my wallet can’t afford it.
Tonight i’m drinking the Montes Alpha Syrah 2004. Big wine, rich, concentrated with firm tannins, but delicious overall.
Another outstanding episode, and once again, welcome back, Gary!!

I won a silver medal at the 2007 WineMaker International Amateur Wine Competition with my montepulciano and I would like to compare it to a commercial wine, I haven’t had a commercial montepulciano in years

QOTD: I’d like to try some Etude Pinot vs Soter Pinot just to see the difference between Cali and Ore. Any great Burgundy or Bordeaux would be really fun to try as well.
