QOTD: The 1999 Royal Tokaji Essencia. Good luck getting a bottle of that. Im trying to secure one myself. A lot of hope is going on on my part. Nice episode, but Im still lost on reds. Hopefully the wine book I bought ( The Wine Bible ) will help me grow.

I enjoy your show and I am trying to fight my lurker tendencies. Just tried the 2001 Heras Cordon Reserva Rioja and would strongly recommend it.

Gary..here's to going back and reviewing old episodes. What wine would I like to taste. Any of the Sine Qua Non Pinot Noirs...I've been extreemely lucky to experience many wines as a wine director and find myself to be the sort of person who feels that wines (like knowedge) are meant to be shared. So if you find yourself feeling in the sharing spirit below is the link to a 1998 Oregon Pinot that I would love to try as a fan of Oregon Pinots...Thanks for the great shows and hard work you put in for all of us.

Great show, love the glass!!

QOTD: I would love to try a great vintage of Chateau Latour. I hear great things, but it is way out of my price league.

I know this is already been a few weeks out...I am in Spain right now and had never had a Rioja. Now it is definitely one of my favorites! Going back and being able to see this episode was great.

Gary,
GREAT episode. Always love to see what the whirl is on Rioja, and this EP was fun to watch from start to finish. QOTD: One of my life dreams is to someday taste at least one of the Guigal La La's from a great or classic finish. I know you won't open the 1985 100-pointer, but 2002 will do in a pinch. Even the descriptions from WS and WA make my mouth water for the La Landonne (Library Code: 5970):
94 Points - Wine Spectator
"Slightly firm at first, but then almost gushes with pure, silky raspberry fruit, followed by notes of iron, tobacco and semisweet chocolate. Beautifully done. Drink now through 2021."
"The star of the 2002 La La's is the 2002 Cote Rotie La Landonne. Aromas of burning embers, scorched earth, truffles, and black cherries are followed by an unexpectedly deep, rich wine that is best consumed over the next 12-15 years." -90-93 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
C'mon ANTY UP Santa Claus! You know you want too...

[...] Gary Vaynerchuk Does Rioja Wine Library TV, recently did a segment on Rioja (Episode 239). If you’ve never seen Gary, he’s worth checking out both because of his style, which is sort of manic and entertaining at the same time, and because he’s knows what he’s talking about. Here is a list of the wines he covered in the episode: [...]

Yeah yeah I know that this comment is coming weeks after the episode, but I never commented on this episode and I think it’s GREAT! Spanish wines are among my current favorites, they have really helped me out of my Cab rut, and the Riojas are wines I usually can’t afford so to have you taste some at different price points is valuable to me, and likely many others. THANKS Gary!

QOTD: What would I really like to try? Of those that you have featured lately I would like to taste one of the following:

Bodegas Pujanza Norte 2004 (http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=31428)
Tensley Colson Canyon Syrah 2005 (http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=9648)

… but I’d be totally fibbing if I didn’t say that the Chateau Leoville Poyferre 1990 (http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=31446) is what I feel I really NEED to taste someday, but at $520 I fear that day will never come :-{

Again Gary, thank you for all you do for us! It makes a difference! Keep it up!
