kuhcrenyav – close enough? I needed to know about Albarino to give as a gift and had never heard of it before. Can’t wait to try it myself! Thanks so much for the help. My host apparently loves this wine – now maybe I’ll find the right one in the store – and perhaps won’t sound like a complete idiot when I mention or talk about it ! Thanks for the great help ! I actually opened a bottle of the Nora tonight and loved it; then I decided to see if Gary had ever reviewed it. Surprise, surprise: Not only had he reviewed it, he loved it, too. It is exactly as he described it. Definitely give it a try, everyone!

I just hat a Pazo Senorans from 2006 yesterday during a wine tasting and found it pretty one-dimentional, although it is very well made. Usually I like the Albarino grape but tis time I kept away from buying the Pazo at a price of 14€. I decided for a Basa Rueda 2007 (Verdejo, Sauvignon, Viura) at a price of 7€ which I liked a lot more.

first Albarino i tried was called LICIA – same name as my wife. She grabbed it on the way out of a wine store in Rochester, NY. It was killer – refocused my love of white wine. It is the best wine to pear w/ creamy soups.

In my opinion, Albarino and White Rhones are the best white wine on earth….followed by the wines of Loire – then white bordeaux.
