QOTD: I was never much of a doodler, but was quite a note-passing guy. Always trying to make friends crack up by writing a joke about something the teacher said or the way they looked. OH- and a shout out to a recent episode when you mentioned the infamous “do you like___? Circle one- YES, NO”. I was ALWAYS drawing the “MAYBE” box like it was my JOB! Kudos, BIG G.

    Nice camera resolution, new one?

My favorite nose-in-the-air-at-the-alternative-name thing (e.g., pinot grigio vs pinot gris) is the fact that no one would eat a patagonian toothfish, but Chilean Sea-bass garners a big price-tag.

are we allowed to answer the QOD the way we hoped you would answer it? i hope you would say “wine bottles” – not in a weird wino way but more of a max fisher (rushmore reference) child genius kind of way.

Only tried one Pinot Grigio from Oregon, from Luna Vineyards. Liked it quite a lot, but I tend to overlook Gris as an option when buying whites.

QOTD: Star Wars vehicles/ships, cartoon characters, knives, guns, and jet planes. Adventure, I craved… (Yoda speak)

    OR – E – (going, going…) GONE!

QOTD: Music notes and birds. No idea why the birds.

As far as the fence goes, I like the exploration most of the time, but perhaps 2 times per month, I want to know what is QPR city. Although, focus on the $12 since it is the new $10.

Actually, I’d love to see an insanity episode with steals for $7…

great show show Gary, I like that you are often tasting the wines for the first time rather than recommending under 10 dollar blah blah wines. QOTD Snoopy, and daggers

QOTD: I used to draw pictures of ladies, but the pictures were very malformed- very tiny waists-I remember that I knew they were off, but I couldn’t make them right. I took some drawing classes but the instructor just said that I had a nice “feel” for art which I think that I correctly interpreted as don’t give up my day job.
I once had a pinot gris that I liked, but I can’t remember what it was. Maybe I should be taking notes.

Wow all those wines looked like they sucked, which has been my experience with Pinot Gris. I’ve gotta find a good one.

My .02; Americans waste too much. Think about it.

QOTD: I drew mostly military stuff and some sharks.

QOTD: Lots of dootle on my pages that looked like stars and stick people movies that you make when you flip pages of a book real fast.

Gary, I (among the millions) apprciate all your hard work in taping that marathon of episodes. . .thank you thank you thank you! It is so great to know I have something to look forward to watching every night after a long day at the computer (I don’t consider watching WLTV being ‘at the computer’).
In class I used to doodle geometric shapes that often started with a 5 or 6 pointed star. I was really into hexagons, too. I have no idea where that come from, but I certainly hope it’s not from some sort of anarchistic or satanic-worshipping former life. . .
I’d also like to thank you for encouraging me to seek out white wines more often. I’ve had some really bad experiences (Toasted Head Chardonnay. . .uggh!) but also some great QPRs, even here where it’s hard to find anything not mass-marketed.
Your changing my wine world – Thanks!

Well here are my two cents worth…

I’ve only had Pinot Grigio. The first time was from a recommended dinner pairing, but either the pairing and/or the wine itself was almost awful. However, I felt that it would pair well with cheese/crackers/etc, and I was pleasantly rewarded on my next try at Pinot Grigio. That’s my preference now.

QOTD: I am so awful at drawing, I feel like I would be wasting ink, lead, and paper; so I rarely drew.

QOTD: I always drew spiral graphs in the corners of all my papers. And also I loved drawing little roller coasters. Anyways I loved the episode. You’ve really rekindled my love of white wine here recently. I’ve been purchasing different kinds from all different places and I’ve found a ton of things that I love. The best thing about WLTV is that it’s made me expand my horizons. I had my first spanish duero last night and it was stellar.

Hilarious! You hate pinot grigio, GV!

Guilty as charged…I have not had a Pinot Gris….only Pinot Grigio.
QOTD#1 – I think you should mix in some shows on what you are drinking, just my 2cents
QOTD#2 – I was into buildings and stuff. I remember drawing the great wall of china as a kid for sure.

QOTD: Airplanes, rolling hills and clouds …. try to figure that one out. I like redheads too by the way, very sexy!

    Pinot Gris, gotta love it.
QOTD: For some reason I always would draw a guy and a worm on a railway track in front of a tunnel with the light of the train coming at him and his little buddy, whom I always drew quite large.

  24. June 1, 2007

    amgryger

qotd: I was a weird kid. I drew castles, but somehow I’m now getting paid to draw, well not castles, but other kinds of buidlings. Geuss I can’t complain really.

    Another enjoyable episode…….

Other than Pinot Grigio, Italy has some rather interesting whites with the like of Frascati, Gavi, Orvieto, etc. How about giving them a whirl.

QOTD: Abstract groupings of squares and rectangles in various patterns.
