QOTD: I think a lot of people would like to know what you have been drinking and what you think of it, and there is cork’d for that, but perhaps on occasion you could throw in a wine you have already had recently, so we can see your reaction to it etc.

Personally though, I love it when you slam a wine =) Keep the drama happening!

I am on the taste new wines side of the fence. Spontaneous reactions are what we want. Gary, don’t go both ways, this format works. Tony Romo for president.

It is far more interesting to explore these new wines with you. Your style and your off the cuff, unconsidered and unbiased reactions are what makes watching these episodes SO much fun. A little bit of you . . .

QOTD: Both might be fun, but I do like the current format because of the spontaneity.

I’ve been working on my novel “Keifer, Keith, and Gary; the Real Men in My World.” It’s going well…. Flipping the switch with Marquis Phillips; priceless…
QOTD: I like you tastin gwines for the first time. Lovin’ that off the cuff component.

QOTD: Keep the current format. It’s like we’re there with you. If it’s predictable you’ll come across as more preaching–which any talking head can do. And it’s fun seeing you pan a highly rated wine.

I would love to see you profile some pre-tasted stuff, but only on occasion. The spontanaeity of your show is why I watch, so don’t mess up a great thing.

QOTD: Please do not change from your current method of selecting wines. But, it’s OK to have a show every now and then where you share a few wines with us that you are already excited about.

    OK, here comes some sarcasm:

Gary, please do shows were you open bottles of wine that you’ve already tasted, because I think it would be interesting to watch you take a sip and say “oh yeah, I already tried this and I still like it”. That would be really intriguing, episode after episode.

Don’t change it Gary, not even on Fridays.

GV! It’s me Dave…dude…why fix it if it aint broke?! keep doing what you do best….i know you love people and all…but think about it…you started this thing because “YOU” wanted to connect with people and get to know them, not some fake version of you or a version that people say they want to see….no not at all….one of the things I respect you for the most is how real you are….you were not afraid to give your honest opinion to the dudes at the SF meet even though you knew they might not all want to hear what you had to say about CA wines….that’s real man and that’s why I watch your show…so keep it real bro…cuz this show is really about you….putting yourself and your honest opinions out there…those that care will be loyal and those that don’t will fizzle out….i’m with ya though man…out

    Top 157!!!

I like not knowing what you will think of each wine. I would lose interest if the show was predictable.

First time poster after a month of lurking around here…

I have found that the Marquis Philips wines need a certain amount of age before really being something that I can appreciate, particularly with the “heat” that I sense from such high alcohol levels. I remember trying their ‘02 shiraz–hating it on day 1, thinking I may have misjudged it on day 2 and actually really liking a bottle that had been opened 2 days earlier. I think it’s drinking great now out of the bottle…

I’ll have to try that Silverado merlot.

Gary, your current format is good. Occasionally, it may be good to give a “known” perspective – provides a little change and keeps the audience guessing.

This episode was good because all the wines were consistent in either the “expert” rating and very closely priced. It is hard to compare wines when the price points are far apart.

The shows where you bring out a dozen or so wines to taste – those rock!

I like the current format, but wouldn’t mind a “once every two week” or so show where you show us your favs. Either way, WLTV is my favorite!

I agree with you caleb but would also like to see a shamelessly commercial “home shopping network version” as well. The free content here has great QPR. Make some $ to buy a jets suite!

QOTD: Keep doing the show the way you’re doing it.

Keep trying wines you haven’t had before. The show wouldn’t have the same energy if you were tasting wine that you have had before except if it was something that you were excited about. Please do another double blind tasting. My wife still doesn’t believe the last one.

QOTD: Don’t change the format. I like it when you are candid and haven’t preplanned what you are going to say. You have helped me amass a collection of wine that I will be looking forward to drinking for the next ten years. My son has promised to take up the slak if I can’t drink it all. 2thdr

QOTD: Why can’t we have both? Five shows a week leaves you plenty of opportunity. Majority of shows should be off the cuff as that what wine library tv is all about, but if you taste great things, why not share those with us as well on an occasional basis?

    Gary

I like your show soo much that I watch at least three old shows a night, keep it coming.

QOTD: Dedicate a whole web page to education of new guys like me, who are dieing for knowledge. You haved done some shows in the past, but how about 100 times more. I am sure you can use some of your Bordaux tape to educate us new ones where the real value is in Bordaux.

    Garret Nagle

QOTD: As helpful as it is to be aware of great buys, I also like knowing wines I should not buy. That being said, I think it might be a good idea to try selecting wines you’ve tasted for “Laid Back Friday” perhaps.

love that daddy vaynerchuk’s nickname is “poopie” and that he is doing the LA thing with Sofitel-style!
QOTD-keep the format the same with a very occasional episode on wine that you have tasted and that surprized you (like the carlos russi jug episode)

  23. June 4, 2007

    EdKoo

QOTD: Don’t change a thing. I actually watch the show more for the wines you rip apart. It entertains me.

keep it as is gary, unless you want to be a ‘parker’ to people forming their tastes. I like what you do now because you teach everyone to explore and find what they like rather than what you like. Yes people can still buy what you reccomend, but it isnt force fed in the current format which it might be in the other format. I think the way you do it now shows us what its all about exploration, good and bad

QOD- I like the way things are run presently. I wouldn’t chanfge it.
