QOD: Perhaps you’re better off mostly tasting wines that you’ve never tasted. If you taste mostly or all wines that you’ve had in the recent past, then you should carefullly consider the criteria for selection. I’m sure that some wineries that have been rated under expectation would just love to see such a change because the show could become a platform for what you want to promote.

The current approach not only calls for your frankness about wine, but also helps educate the public about a wide range of wines and wine characteristics that may not get the same air time as only ones that the critic would recommend.

    Keep the current format!
If on occasion you wish to show something that you recently had and liked, ok, included it.

QOTD: I like the format as it is, but it wouldn’t hurt to do wines you recommend once in a while. On the one hand, it’s fun to watch you separate the wheat from the chaff, and I learn from watching you do it and hearing your reasons and deciding whether I agree. On the other hand, I’m also looking for good value wines to buy, and you taste a lot more wines than I do, so your recommendations would help me zero in on stuff I should be considering. On the other hand… Oops! Sorry, I’m out of hands.

I’m among phillistines here in Minnesota. What do I have to do to be able to buy wine from you?

If the fence ain’t broke don’t try to fix it. I prefer the existing format. Although perhaps it worth a try to occasionally mix it up and do a show of wines you have previously tasted and scored.

QOTD:Don’t change a thing. What you have going now works. Sure, toss in an episode where you have tried the wines every now and then. I have watched a lot of episodes in the last few weeks while being a lurker trying to get an idea where the show has evolved from and becoming informed. Now that I have come out from the dark and into the light I say leave things as they are. WLTV is fantastic!!

QOTD: I’m on your side of the fence GV……Keep the format as is with wines that you have not tried recently. Sprinkle in a recommendations show every now and then is OK.

Wine Library TV is still an awesome endeavor…….keep up the good work..

    I enjoy every episode…Thanks.

QOTD: I think “Wines you recommend” would be a great single show topic, but you NEED to keep the same format. I love seeing you pan a wine that people have said they loved, or get that suprised Vayernod going from an unexpected underdog. Keep it up!!

QOTD: I enjoy the show as it is so if it’s one or the other; stay the course because if you don’t we would lose the classic “Voga” types moments that I love so much. However, what about if you were to combine the ideas? For example, have a show on…Argentinian wines where you try 3 wines that you haven’t had before and recommened on that you know enjoy.

Hey Gary, great show. will have to search out Silverado again. kinda forgot about them…

pls. keep the show ‘as is’… it ain’t broke. don’t fix it.

see u again whenever you come back around Cali.

QOTD: I wouldn’t change a thing. Every now and then, do a Gary’s Recommendations show but honestly if it wasn’t nothing but wines you LIKED, it would get boring!

I like WLTV the way it is….I don’t need you to recommend wines to me which I probably won’t be able to find anyway. I like to watch the tasting process which I can relate to, learn from, and enjoy.

I’ve found that just about every “90 point wine” episode you do, you always disagree. You only liked the Merlot-I know, I’m one of those ignorant “avoid merlot” types-I just need to drink a few good ones. Hey, do what ever you want, I’ll watch it anyway, but for the most part I do enjoy the episodes where you have not tasted the wine. Sometimes you are surprised and really get into a new find, or you pan them “cause you’d pan your own grandmother”.

    Sensei,

Say hello to my friends Jon and Patti, they were in Venice yesterday as well…

QOTD – keep format the same, but you could have a recommneded wine of the day or week. That being a wine you tasted or drank outside of the show and recommend. I really like your reactions to wines you have not drank before, but also value your opinion and a wine of day or week woulod be nice addtiion.

    Travel safe!

I like how you currently do the shows. It is particularly good when you fiind a really good or really bad wine and we get to see your reaction to those.

QOTD: Leave the show as is. I like the honesty of first tastes. As for Recommendations of wines you have had I like to check your corkd account.

QOTD: I think that doing both is a great idea as long as you make it very clear that a recommendation is not something you are tasting for the first time. You could even do a show in the same format as now then at the end of the show give a few other recommendations that you enjoy that fit the theme.

    Gary,

Enjoyed the show and the call from your Dad was great. My father passed away last March after a long battle with cancer; so savor every moment.

QOTD: It ain’t broke, so don’t fix it. I like the show the way it is, but like many other viewers, if you want to throw in some wines you’ve tasted already, that’s fine by me.

Hope your trip is going well.

Great show today man! I’ve had that bottle of sara’s blend in my hands a few times but never actually purchased it… Not sure I will now :P I thought there’d be more to it really.

QOD: I really do like your inside scoop on wines you’re retasting but your initial reactions to new wines really is priceless! That’s the exact same thing that everyone else goes through when they bring that bottle home from the store and start the whole open/decant/wait ritual. You never know for certain what that particular wine will present like and that’s half the fun! So when you go through the exact same thing, it just helps US relate more to YOU imo. That and if I really want to know what ya think of wines you’ve tried I’ll check your cork’d out :D

Great show once again…totally addicted! Like the show the way it is….even though I’m not tasting it with you feel like the experience is there first hand!! Keep it the same….love you just the way you are! Hope your enjoying your wonderful time off…..can’t wait for the next one!!

Greeting to your Dad Gary ;) – Nice show again! When you tape 12 episodes on one day just feel free to some daily work during the show like ironing or shaving :)

QOTD: Keep it like it is!

I think one of the best parts about WLTV is that even though we’re not ACTUALLY tasting with you, it’s like we’re discovering things together. It’s a lot more dynamic that way. With the new cork’d integration, we can just look at your wine journal to see what you’ve liked “behind the scenes”. Besides, I learn just as much from wines you bash as from the wines you like, if not more. So, as far as what side of the fence I’ve fallen on, I suppose I never even tried climbing it in the first place. Keep it the way it is!!!

Gary, I loved VaynerPop’s phone call. You’re blessed to still have your parents. I lost my Mom early in her life, 10 years ago, and still had a lot to learn from her.

QOD: I love the show the way it is. It might be cool if somehow, once in awhile, we could know in advance what wines you are tasting so we could get our own and taste along with you. I learned so much in Chicago from doing just that. Kind of like the WOTM on the forums.
