QOTD: Either format works for me. However, have you considered doing more double-blind tastings to really mix it up?

QOTD: I don't oppose either, but favor the new wines. (new to you, they're all new to me!)

QOTD: A little late to weigh-in, but I just wanted to say I like the unknown format. Gives you a chance to say what you really think without as much preconception. Not that you've ever been afraid to speak your mind, it is just harder to review "against" yourself.

Keep the current format.....it's better as no one knows how the outcome will be plus it is more interesting and fun.

I'm sitting down with a bottle of 2003 Silverado Merlot tonight and I get a super strong cigar on the bouquet as well as the first flavors. Not sure if that's just what another year of aging has done to it but it's a tough flavor to miss. The finish is super smooth with hints of chocolate.

Here in NH it's up to $29 but still well worth it.

QOTD: Keep the show as it is. I like the unpredictable nature of the show. Most of the time you havent tried that exact wine, so its fun to see you gab about the winery and years past then dig into it. Though I must plead....More dessert wines!!!!

Trevor Jones Virgin Chardonnay:

I have always liked your show and trusted your palate. I am beginning to wonder if we are drinking the same wines.
Trevor jones - no oak, not sweet, great acidity, lots of citrus, a perfect wine with fresh seafood.

Regaleali Nero D Avola - Simple, pleasant, not up to snuff with it's Nero competition but no off-scent or garbage nose.

Your unappreciation of over the top fruit bombs is not warranted. Take the 2005 Writers Block Lake County Zinfandel. Way over the top strawberry flavor, Yummy.

GV - Obviously, going back through the old ones today. I absolutely prefer you tasting new wines for yourself. I think it adds a lot to the show when you find ones you don't like. Sometimes a "NO" is just as good as a "Yes". I think you should do the "Gary recommends" section on the Wine Library site.

Another great show, please keep pushing everyone to try new stuff!!
