I just had my first Muscadet maybe a week ago or so, and I loved it. I can’t remember the name off hand, though.

QOTD: I’m really not very familiar with much European wines in general. I used to have the misconception that all French wines were too expensive, so I just avoided that part of the store. I didn’t know there was anything other than Chianti and Super Tuscans from Italy. Only recently have I realized there are great values from France and Italy. I still don’t know what Germany has to offer aside from Riesling, which I’m not a big fan of–although, if someone can direct me toward a good, bone dry Riesling for a good price, I’d try it with an open mind.

For value, I’ve stuck mainly to South America and Australia/New Zealand. I’ve recently also gotten into South African wines. I require value since I’m a poor graduate student

Canit say I have had many Muscadets. QOTD-Can't say I know of any grape worth thinking about that I have not tried. www.winelx.com

qotd Im gonna go with the Greek wines and varietals. Gary, have you had savagnin? the grape that goes in to true vin jaune. It would be awesome to see you put just 1 of those on your show

QOTD – I have so many weaknesses, I don’t even want to discuss them. I tend to really focus on the things I like, and get know them in depth, to the exclusion of some other areas. Which is to say, this show, with its palate-expanding mantra, is made for me.

I’ll definitely put muscadet on my “to be tried” list.

@Adrian: Muscadet is definitely not muscat. Muscadet is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape, and is usually made dry, while Muscat is made from the Muscat grape, and is often (but not always) used for sweeter wines. Search “muscat” and “muscadet” on wikipedia.

I do believe at 1:53 you said “…breast values in the world.” I do like to see gary get sloshed! Sweet episode, though. A inexpensive white wine for me to try and not worry about breaking the bank while expanding my palate. QOTD: Never had a Red Bordeaux (have had some Sauternes), but own one that is cellaring and I plan on buying and cellaring some more. Hey Im changing the wine world!!!!
