QOTD – I have so many weaknesses, I don’t even want to discuss them. I tend to really focus on the things I like, and get know them in depth, to the exclusion of some other areas. Which is to say, this show, with its palate-expanding mantra, is made for me.

I’ll definitely put muscadet on my “to be tried” list.

@Adrian: Muscadet is definitely not muscat. Muscadet is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape, and is usually made dry, while Muscat is made from the Muscat grape, and is often (but not always) used for sweeter wines. Search “muscat” and “muscadet” on wikipedia.

I do believe at 1:53 you said “…breast values in the world.” I do like to see gary get sloshed! Sweet episode, though. A inexpensive white wine for me to try and not worry about breaking the bank while expanding my palate. QOTD: Never had a Red Bordeaux (have had some Sauternes), but own one that is cellaring and I plan on buying and cellaring some more. Hey Im changing the wine world!!!!

GV – Love these…. not all the time, but I see them having a perfect time and place.

QOTD – Shortcoming…. Cabernet Franc is something that I have never had on its own, hopefully we can fix that this weekend.

QOTD: Never had a Cabernet Sauvingon. Seriously. Though, I have a bottle of Root:1 2005 on my shelf as I type this…But I am waiting to open it till I can share it w/ my dad. He raved about it, and that’s why I bought it (plus a few for him, apparently this vintage is hard to find now). So that will be taken care of soon.

Oh, and I’ve never had a Riesling.

The Pepiere Muscadet Sur Lie is my standard at home white wine. I find it pretty mineralish in addition to the greens. A perfect complement to food of the sea. I’d agree with the other comment that Gary should explain “sur lie”, it brings an almost frizzy quality to the wine.

Gary, Just had my first Muscadet tonight, a Domaine Les Hautes NoÃ«lles ‘04 Muscadet CÃ´tes de Grandlieu. Tasty!

I gotta say (again) that had I never watched WLTV, who knows if I would’ve EVER tried a Muscadet. You rock!
