If Viddler isnt’ working download the Quicktime version- it takes about 3 minutes, but, oh, is it worth it!!!!!
QOTD: When I was in Burgandy last year my eyes were opened wide to the Beaujolais!!!!!!

QOTD: I like beaujolais! But my fiance IS prejudiced, so we never really buy it. Thanks for this show! I think he’s willing to give it a try now.

yeah, not a Beaujolais fan here. But I’m always open minded. It’s just that when I’m promised they’re good, I still end up not liking them.

QOTD: No! I love beaujolais! But I do hate the cheap stuff. The ones you tried today looked really good. And you made me want lamb too.

QOTD: given that I have only had Beaujolais Nouveau and mainly George Daboeuf stuff I am one of those people who have a prejudice against it. I’ll have to look for some better stuff to try. As for the Gamay grape I did have a Gamay Noir from the St Hubertus winery here in BC. It had a very prounced peppery taste which I liked. Was great with the beef short ribs I had.

QOTD: well my feelings on the beaujolais are best described with a Ralph Steadman quote: “I was with a so-called expert. I was talking about Beaujolais. He said “I’m not talking about that, it’s not wine. Personally, I just stopped talking. It’s totally ridiculous …. it’s wine I love …. Do you like Van Gogh and do you like Picasso? Personally, I don’t like Picasso. I don’t understand Picasso. But I don’t say Picasso is a bad painter”

Now if only the Wine shops on Eastern Long Island carried some Beaujolais Cru

Nope. Just with France in general a few years back over something or other.

QOTD: I have not had a Beaujolais that I am aware of yet so no I am not prejudiced towards it. :-) Guess I will have to add it to my ever growing list.

And I thought Beaujolais was a band from New Orleans. No, I don’t have any
bias (aka prejudice)toward Beaujolais. I’m not informed enough to be snobbish. Willing to give it a try, though, especially with duck.

QOTD: I suppose I do have a bit of prejudice against beaujolais, mostly because it was a starter wine for me. Anything I drank when I was 20ish was usually pretty bad. However, I’m willing to brush aside the bad preconceptions and give it a try. :)

I’m especially eager now that Gary has compared them to tea. Yes, I am a HUGE tea geek, and probably spend as much time tasting and comparing teas (not that Lipton or herbal crap) as I do wine.

Yeh, progressive works on viddler. I have only ever tried the Beaujolais Nouveau and what can I say? It wasn’t my cup of tea, however I am intrigued by the primeire crus and will seek some out in the future. EPH

    Have a great weekend Vayniacs!

What an awesome series of tastings we got this week! Talk about QPR, Wine Library TV offers the best QPR in wine tasting anywhere. Too bad the virtual tasting feature on my computer isn’t working.

QOTD: Prejudice against Beaujolais? No WAY!

I just wish I could try more. But at $15 a bottle, I’ll be experiencing this part of Burgundy a lot sooner than the Pinot noir side.

QOTD: I can’t say that I have any prejudice for or against Beaujolais…as I’ve never had any.

Another Top 100. Very interesting episode. QOTD -Yep, and given all the wines I have yet to try, don’t think gamay will make its way onto my ‘must drink’ list for some time. sorry, gamay. might try to get one of my wine buddies to buy a couple of good bottles for our tasting sessions, tho.

QOTD – Nope, no bias for or against Beaujolais here. *flexes muscles of non-judgmentalism*

Thanks for bringing the good Beaujolais to the tasting table, I think it’s something we definitely needed to see. I have to admit, with all the Nouveau and Villages, Jadot and Georges D, I have a bit of a prejudice against the Gamay grape. I think wine retailers are afraid to stock good Beaujolais, thinking people won’t buy them on account of their lesser counterparts. I will surely seek some of these out for my tasting in the future.

Hello everyone… As Rob pointed out in his comment, progressive should work fine. We’re having some streaming hiccups and we’ll get the ship pointed back in the right direction soon.

    Great episode, as usual!

    quicktime worked fine for me!

    i love tea as well.

before getting into wine, i would spend time tasting and sipping fine oolongs, whites, fruity blacks, anything really. and now that wine is consuming my palate instead of tea, the tea drawer is both jealous and proud to have prepared my taste buds for something even greater.

Beaujolais in the summer? There’s not much better! Easy drinking, not pretentious, gotta love it!
