You’re such a clown. The good kind, not the creepy kind…
    QOTD: No. Never was.

    Another brilliant episode. Great lushness!

    QOTD: Nope.

QOTD: I have had a good number of the cru Beaujolais, and have no prejudice. I just don’t drink them because I do not have a taste for fetid, rotting bananas that seems to be Beaujolais’ constant hallmark.

As a longtime lurker this episode has brought me out of the shadows…

I used to really enjoy some Beaujolais several years ago. Then I had a bad one and next read an article in some magazine about how they were wines that experienced wine drinkers wouldn’t even consider…so I did form a preconceived bias against them. I think I’ll give them another shot now though.

    Thanks for another great episode!

QOTD: yes I’ve been slighted by Beaujolais in the past, but perhaps I’ll give it another go.

OK OK – yes, I definitely think Beaujolais is sub-standard … I haven’t had a good bottle yet – but I trust you, so I’ll give a cru Beaujolais a try.

Gary, beautiful show again today. I’m going to hit up some Bo jo lay soon. Can’t wait to try it. Speaking of that, and I’m just being your friend here, have you considered taking a couple French lessons just to get some pronounciation down? It might make you happy. Just a thought!

Beaujolais Nouveau – definite prejudice against. Ridiculous stuff!

Beaujolais like the ones in today’s tasting I have a definite prejudice for. The best value of any wine in the world today.

I love the flower and rose petal flavors and in fact, a couple of weeks ago I did eat a flower, a couple actually, to work on that part of my palate. Taking the advice of the palate buidling episode I tasted a bunch of other earthy-forest things too.

QOTD: Nope. I enjoy pretty much any wine that tastes like rose petals. I actually seek them out.

Prejudiced…but i will be ordering some soon because I havent given it a fair shot. I would like to try some of the nicer versions that you highlighted. Hope your rockin it hardcore in GREECE!

QOTD: All I’m really familiar with is the nouveau and I don’t think it’s bad but just…insubstantial. Always figured that the Cru would be better but never sought it out…until now.

Not really prejudice, cause I’ve never had it…never even heard of it ’til now. Gonna have to keep my eyes open

Well shut my mouth! And open my wine mind! top 10 Gary. and therein lies my ans. to the QOTD.
The rubber ball you referred to is a Spalding or as we’ses on Long Island used to call it a Spaldeen with which you play ‘Ham and Eggs’. On the street with just an infield. the pitch is a one bouncer with as much spin as you can and the batter slaps it with his/her palm. no gloves. awesome ballgame!

I need to clarify something I stated earlier. Gamay Beaujolais, especially in California, is a clone of Pinot Noir. Cru Beaujolais is a blend that consists mostly of the Gamay grape which may or may not be a prehistoric clone of pinot noir. Blah, blah, blah…and so what? Just thought you might want to know.

QOTD Yes, but I may have to rethink after I try some Cru.

Good ep. Cru Beaujolais rocks. It’s the only Gamay that is age worthy. You can’t find a true Gamay outside of France. Did you also know that Gamay is a clone of Pinot Noir?

    Ciao

No prejudice here………I’ve never had any of the Noveau versions, but give me a Fleurie, or a Morgon and I’ll be happy.

Thanks GV- the Gamay will be searched out. QOTD: Yes- but no longer.

Thanks for waking people up to what some of us already know. Cru Beaujolais ROCK. Hopefully, there won’t be a Sideways effect.
    QOTD: Big NO.

Big intro! Getting a little loonie after filming so many episodes in a row?

great episode! I will have to check one of these out.

QOTD: I had a HUGE prejudica against beajolais because of that godawful noveau, and also the louis jadot beajoulais sucks in my opinion as well. however, i once had the fortune of having a morgon that someone bought thinking it was a pinot from burgundy. I went into thinking it would suck, but i was blown away by how delicious and food-friendly it was. it also wasn’t simple by any means.

No, I’ve enjoyed beaujolais in the past but haven’t had a bottle in a couple of years. Great show, it reminds me to find some to stick in the cellar.

Hate the Beaujolais? No! Love the Beaujolais.

Never had the nouveau, though, so maybe that might have something to do with it.
