I've only tried the Beaujolais noveau as i'm sure many have, consistently don't like the flavour profile, but i want to try some serious stuff to see how it varies!

i have been drinking bojis since I got a bunch of 04' drouhin fleurie, julienas, and chirobles for 7 bucks a pop. It was aewsome, until I drank all the store had to offer. I had found a goldmine. 7 bucks for a 25 dollar wine in it's prime... These wines were mature last november..... Oh yah, new orleans is always bringing more thunder than most can imagine.... especially with the burgs and bojis....we rock more french magic than most states can dream of... but it's a secret, Gary, so don't tell anyone.

Peace

QOTD: The only thing I knew about Beaujolais before this episode is that Bob Dylan was getting tanked on it while he was in the studio cutting one of his first albums and my co-worker says you can hear it as the album progresses. I do admit to maying having a prejudice against a winery (more of a joke of pretending to be a wine snob then actual prejudice) , but never against an actual type of wine before I tried a handful of them.

Cru Beaujolais are one of my favorite reds to drink here in warm Hawaii. I enjoy drinking an aged Cru Beaujolais as it does evolve over time. Fleurie is still my favorite, followed by Moulin A Vent then Cote de Brouilly.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for good cru Beaujolais. So much so that I'm going to taste there on our trip to Burgundy next year. Part of me is teary that you did them proud, and part is wanting to kick you for letting the value-cat out of the bag.

I tried the Clos De La Roilette Fleurie 2005 tonight with some roasted turkey and it was fantastic. I finished the bottle about two hours ago and I can still taste it. The strawberry component is very strong, but not overpowering. At first I could smell a lot of alcohol on the nose, so much I had to check the percentage, but after an hour or so open on the counter it toned down a bit.

The tasting notes on this were spot on for me, and I would also give this 90 points.

I will definitely be seeking more of this out and trying it again in November. Not to mention it is a nice QPR at $15.

Thanks GV!
