Dirty bomb. Thanks for doing a heathcote, If I recall thats only the second you’ve ever done (Jasper Hill, being the first). Hope you do another soon, Wild Duck Estate perhaps.

    Hey, Gary, loved the episode. Hope you’re not driving home.:} QOD: I’m a dirty bomb as well. Prefer leather, licorice, and tobacco with my cassis. :}

QOTD: preference for dirty … but a good bomb on occasion ain’t bad

    Dominus

Ahhhhhhh, now you’re talking. Peyton threw the monkey off his back and now, the G-Man throws the ‘03 Dominus onto center stage.

My wine geek friends have asked if I’ve had the ‘03 at 95 pts I told them I would need to wait for Gary to review, so alas, my day is complete.

QOTD: It all depends on where and with whom I’m drinking wine. Quaffing on the deck, da bombs; with great food and friends, I’m a dirty old man and I’m proud of it.

Thank you Gary for reviewing the Dom. Time to order some and hoping you have fun in the Greek isles. Trying their wines?

    Cheers!!!!

You are the man. I saw the Rolf Binders in your New Arrival section a week or two ago and I coveted some. I waited to pull the trigger and now I’m glad I did. I’ll stick with my Shotfire Ridge, Prima Toro and Clio. Thanks for pointing me to the value!

How about a taste off 2003 vs 2004 La Fleur de Boüard?

qotd: The more I become an old man (ok, I’m only 32, but still) the more I become a dirty old man. Plus, I have two terriers at home. Terriers, terroir, get it. I’m tired too.

Mad Props on showin us vayniacs mad love. I think the last time I tasted that much wine…or at least alcohol was in college. But Boons and Natty Ice don’t really count do they.

QOTday: I Bomb Dirty. My whole philosophy on life is: if it tastes good, it tastes good. I know, pretty simple.

QOTD; A VERY DIRTY STINKY OLD bomb
gary i really appreciate your tenaciousness, i believe! 12 complete games in a row. no bullpen needed for vaynerchuk

60/40 dirty/bomb… sometimes the fruit scares me in that the bombs are “designer” wines and too manipulated.

    amgryger

Never had a Dominus, someday though, but I have to give them a big shout out for their choice to hire Herzog and de Meuron to design their facilities.

QOTD: I’m a dirty bomb, though I will admit to being more dirt than bomb. I occaisionally enjoy a total fruit bomb, but I find that I get bored with them and virtually all of my repeat purchases are in the old world category.

And as I write this, some lunatic on my street is shouting “I’m God.” Just thought I’d share.

Like some others I can’t speak in absolutes, suffice it to say I’m torn between labeling myself a cluster, a neutron or a nuclear!

    Gary:

    Great ep as always.

I have two comments unrealated to this show:

    - did anyone see gary with they heavyweight from the Mojo show “Uncorked” last night? great to see gary (and the store)on this episode, especially since the host is so annoying (yes, i still watch because the show is about wine).

    - gary, i know i have put in this request before, but would a Minneapolis/St. Paul Vanyiac event move up the timeline if I told you former NY Jets safety Phillip Weis is a native Twin Citian and member of the hugely popular KQRS morning show? It would be great advertisement for you to show up on KQRS on a Friday morning and show up to a Vayniac event that night. I will make it happen.

    QOD:

The more I drink wine, the more I tend to like old world wines. I can’t dismiss some of the newer ones though. I just really enjoy earthy flavors in wine more and more. When a wine’s overly fruity and lacking structure I get bored. Well said today about the shiraz. I can’t even drink that stuff anymore. It all taste’s THE SAME.

    DIRTY!!!

also, how great would it be if ‘oak monster riding my little pony through candyland’ were turned into a tshirt, i’d buy one!

  22. June 11, 2007

    Kelly

Love that one line about the Oak Monster riding My Little Pony into a Candyland or what have you!!!!

QOTD: I would say I prefer New World wine with old world characteristics. I could also be put on the borderline as well.

Great Episode, thank you for the warning about cheaper Syrah’s being as good as the much more pricey stuff.

PLEASE HAVE MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN ON THE SHOW!!!!
