QOTD: “The Plan” is to pick up some more of that 2005 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette. I had a bottle before WLTV Episode 252 came out and thought it was the shizzy. Then Gary goes and tell the world about it. Thanks a lot GV!

The plan is to go surfing this morning and enjoy my dinner date tonight! Great episodes, you are now converting me to Reislings, or whites in general. Or actually it may have been that Vouvray I had with my friend’s vietnamese striped sea bass, cilantro and rice paper, or the Txomin Txakoli I drank that turned out to be a better pairing with homeade Paella than a special bottle of 2001 Rioja did.

I had the 2004 Domaine Schoffit Riesling Harth Tradition last week! When i was drinking it, I felt like I had stuck a straw right inside a pineapple. I was more on the 89/90 fence on that one though.

Here’s a suggestion Gary: some of those really nerdy experts you refer to Jancis Robinson, Hugh Johnson, etc. seriously rave about Riesling, and I am trying to get into this wine myself. But, and without further knocking your self confidence, they all pronounce Riesling with a soft ssssss: now me I have always ZZZed it, but I guess we can all learn — just thing ‘Reece Witherspoon’ and then you too can be a nerd!!

I have to admit, I was one of those wine newbies 3 years ago who thought Rieslings were just some sweet wine. Now I love ‘em, they usually make the dinner table once a week when we make Indian food.

QOTD: The plan – I am debating at this moment whether or not to get philosophical on this question or not. I’ll go not for now. So in about 30 minutes I am heading for a 40 mile road bike ride, then going to Brunch for my wifes B-DAY, then going to a reception for my sisters wedding which is part deux from the actual wedding we went to in Key West 2 weeks ago, then tomorrow is part uno of my sister in laws wedding extravaganza, which is the Virginia wedding followed by the wedding in Italy 2 weeks from now. BUSY BUSY!!
Thanks again to you and Tom C for the heads up on some wineries to visit while I am in Piemonte.

Question of the Day: Plan? hmmm…. my biggest plan currently is building up a nice cellar for the future, with a strong backbone of 2005 Bordeaux. The IRA can wait a few more years!

The plan is leaving for Paris tonight to move in with my girlfriend, THAT is what the freakin’ plan is!!! Can’t wait to discover even more of the Ville LumiÃ¨re and hope to see GV pop up there sometime!

Good Riesling kills, I used not to like the grape until you really pushed it and until I had the chance to taste some proper bottlings of top German rieslings which really humbled me…
