Umm, Gary, I think you mean “in the hizzy”?

    “Hissy” is a type of fit… I’m just sayin’…

QOTD: How about Europe? Paris would be great, perhaps London?

If you’re ever in Paris give me a shout, I’d be glad to kick you in the nuts or go out for a glass.

QOTD: New Mexico would be fun – Albuquerque, Santa Fe or Taos.

It sounds as though you received some emotional scars in 3rd grade, but you don’t need to bribe people to like you anymore. And I don’t need a bribe to get some gewurtztraminer. This could be an Alsatian summer.

Only tried Gewurztraminer once and wasn’t impressed. I will have to try it again soon.

QOTD: Another vote for ST. LOUIS

I’ve got a few bottles of the 2000 Trimbach Ribeaupierre and I here what you are saying about the quality of the fruit. The mouthfeel and flavors are GREAT! The intensity of the flavors, and the finish especially, are slightly lacking but it is a DELICIOUS wine which I would recommend trying.

QOTD: I’m in NJ so I think you should just hang out here and party with us!

I’m crazy about spicy foods – the hotter the better!- and I love Gewurztraminer. My fiance also makes awesome black bean burritos with habanero peppers at home, and it’s great with that too.

QOTD: Virginia! I actually live in TN now, in a city which is half in TN and half in VA, but I’m a Virginia girl originally, and our wine industry is growing. :)

QOTD: Buffalo, NY! Yes, that’s right, Buffalo. It’s gorgeous here in the fall with the changing of the leaves, and there happens to be a Jets game in Orchard Park against the Bills on Sept 30th. Also, Buffalo is within 8 hours driving distance of just about every major metropolis in the North East and Canada so is easily accessible by just about everyone. Consider it!

    Greetings Mr. V!

Gewurztraminer is one of those few wines I can’t help but turn down out of hand. The floral, potpourri, spicy aspects repel me instantaneously. C’est la vie!

Question of the Day: Though I admit it’s more of a beer town, I’d love you to come out to Pittsburgh some time. Bring us some of your wine magic to counter balance the evils of the PA state monopoly!

Gevurz and Riesling are the two most interesting wines out there. Viognier is a close third.

Had a shot at first comment, but couldn’t find the “Comment” link…??? Shows up just fine once someone has commented. Huh.

QOD – PORTLAND ORY-GUN, Baby!!!! How I’ve dreamed of punching you in the face…sigh. Oh wait, that wasn’t you. Still would be uber-sweet to hang out, though.

Another informative, interesting episode. With Gewurztraminer, I like saying it better than drinking it. Maybe I just haven’t tasted any good ones yet?
