Great intro on today’s episode. good educational aspect!

i love the gewurtz. i was drinking alot of it this weekend up in the finger lakes. Had a great 2005 lamoreaux landing gewurtz.

I have had a couple of alsatian ones, but i need to explore the alsace more.

    QOTD: Finger Lakes.

Love the gewurztraminer. Even more, I love listening to people try to pronounce it. I first tasted it when I was way too young sipping out of dads glass in the early eighties. Gary and I are the same age so I was definitely breaking some laws. I think it was fetzer we bought on some no-cal trips in the motorhome.

QOTD: You need to make a trip to Houston for the late Fall or the winter and enjoy our excellent weather. Summer is not the time to be here but Winter is nice.

Gary, You’re right again. I’ve never had a Gewurz, but I just threw 2 in my cart. Thanks

QOD: OHIO! Your beloved Jets are playing my (not as beloved) Bengals the weekend of October 19-21. Great time to visit southern Ohio!

BTW, Stephane, about 17 comments up, sounds kinda scary. Is that some kind of French greeting or something? If so, I’ll never get my husband to visit France with me!! :)

I have enjoyed the Gewurztraminers I have had in the past very much. Good show. FYI-Still waiting for the wristband…..

QOTD: How about Phoenix or Tucson…Just because you can’t ship to Arizona doesn’t mean us the Vayner Nation doesn’t exist out here.

    Gewurztraminer…?

I’ve had some, but not a good one. Let’s kill two birds with one stone and try my first Alsace and maybe my first good Gewurztraminer!

QOTD: How about Sacramento, CA!?! We could get Arnold and Maria to stop by for a sip or two. Lots of Vaniacs here and you’re smack dab in the middle of lots of wine districts!

Interesting show, GV. I have had a number of Gewurztraminers. Generally don’t like them due to the sweetness component. Just don’t have a sweet tooth. I know they are not all that way so your tasting was helpful.

The new past episode set up is an improvement. Thanks for that!

wanna hear somthing that’ll make you smile, Gary?

Gewurztraminer is what got me really genuinely interested in wine to begin with…it was the first time i ever really enjoyed wine on the level of a serious wine drinker, and I’ve been loving it ever since.

QOTD: The areas where really good washington wines are made (and where I am) aren’t particularly interesting in and of them selves, but maybe Seattle?

  18. June 18, 2007

    Bart F

QOTD: We would love to have you out to Seattle! Beautiful weather, lots of shell fish, great local wines!

Thanks for the extra buttons & links to recent episodes — and for tasting some Gewurztraminers! I have a friend coming to visit this summer who drinks little else (!)… now I’ll know what to stock up on for his visit.

QOD: I will always favor the west coast, but I’d think that perhaps there’s Vayniacs in Australia or New Zealand who want a crack at you.

Yup, Gewurz and Riesling. Gotta go buy me some.

I’ve yet to try Gewurztraminer, but it does sound like something I’d like. *puts it on the list* Nice changes on the site.

QOTD: Uh, hmmm. I’d say come to Cleveland, but like, its Cleveland.

    CindyW

QOTD: we’d love to have you out here in the Seattle area, or at least somewhere in the Pacific Northwest!
