Good episode Gary, will keep my eye’s open for some of those wines.

Man I wish I had been watching when you came to Chicago, I think you should come back to the midwest and see the Windy City again.

If you go to Seattle, I’ll drive down from Vancouver and bring you some great Okanagan wine!

(Blatant bribery — thought it would be worth a try.)

    Gary,

I think your next road trip should be to British Columbia,Canada. The Okanagan region is becoming world famous for their icewine, also Jackson Triggs winery has won numerous awards for their first class wine.

First off, never had this grape varietal before. QOTD: Come to the South! I’m in Tulsa, OK, but I don’t think there are a lot of Vayniacs here. I would go to Dallas, Kansas City, even possibly St. Louis to see the G-man himself. Does that make me a Vayniac groupie?

Or come to Oklahoma! We have wineries here that are pretty good. Heck, we even have a guest room you could use and an extra vehicle, so you wouldn’t have to rent a car. ;) Seriously!

    GV,
Another new wine for me to try! Great!
QOTD: North Carolina, definitely. Gewurtz may even go with NC barbecue, although I think Zin would work with that too.

This is my first time to your page but I love it!! I will certainly be watching more episodes. You’re funny and you have a great way of talking about wine. I think you should definitely make a trip to Seattle :) You would be able to draw in so many wine lovers from all over the Pacific Northwest.

Come to Washington, DC Gary! You can stay at CNW spa in Virginia…it would be perfect. Im a huge fan of the New York and Niagara Peninsula Gewurtz with Mexican and Thai…

    Cheers

Too sweet for my taste. Tried it many, many years ago (20 + years).
Visit the SouthEast – I am in Chapel Hill, NC but will travel close by. Places to consider are Charlotte and Atlanta where there are probably lots of Vayniacs.

I’ve not tried Gewurztraminer wines before… I’ll have to seek them out. LOVE Thai food – really anything with spice to it!

QOTD: Gary, that is so simple… come to Virginia in the fall. The spa will be open (bring the wife and I’ll hook you guys up in the couples suite for some treatments). Our facility can even host a party for the Vayniac’s who might want to attend… shoot, I bet we could even get you some new Vayniac’s!!! Besides, I’d like to see what you think of some of our VA wines! See, simple!

I have enjoyed the Lazy Creek and the Londer from California. Good wine. I don’t know why, but I usually buy Gewurztraminer in the fall kind of like pumpkins.
