Love super dark chocolate but I think I will try the Arneis first.
QOTD – the new WLTV one – very classy

I had a Ch Bouscasse Madiran 2000 wow the wine was soooo young and mean not a nice bottle. tannat is jaw buster… visited Rosenblum last feb. did try the black muscat in the tasting room. wine was o.k. I found it lost in the world of dessert wines. loved the people at Rosenblum what a turnaround from napa love the zins maybe over the top to some.

    QOTD … I have recived any schwag….yet…!

I gotta dig the wrist band. it’s the only thing that i have, so far. it really brings people together. what thats it. youre bringing the wine world together.

over the years have you been more and more dissapointed in the rosenblum label? that is a decent wine though.

Gotta love the lemon-lime zing zing!

QOTD: the wristband (yes, I still owe you a pic but I did “digg” you)

QOTD: the pickle tee is pretty cool.

Qotd: Definitely the Oak Monster, but the blonde in the schwag picture is ranked at about 1a. hehe shes beautiful.

Who gives a crap about Jamie Oliver, whoever dat is??
Chill Out or ya gonna blow a gasket !! :)

Got me a bottle of a 1990 (or so) Rosenblum Black
Muscat buried somewhere!! Now where da hell did
i put it??? It’s probably Black Vinegar by now !! :(

    QOTD: Schwag WHOOOOO ?????

That reminds me, QOD: the four-bagger wine tote! There’s room for a bottle, a second bottle (if the occasion calls for it), a backup bottle (in case your bottle is corked) and a decoy bottle!

Now have you got anything for toting stemware around?

Do you have any 20-30 year old tannat hanging around in the cellar we could purchase? I really hate the fact that the oldest wine I seem to be able to find in a store around here is like 1999 and that’s rare itself. I’m trying to buy some extras right now that I can hold for 10 years or so and pop later, but it’s hard on a tight budget. I don’t think i’ve ever had something that has been at it’s peak age. My wristband picture will be coming soon.

Great show! Lots of energy today.

    QTD: Oak monster tee

    Clearly,
The picture of the blond with the SCHWAG label is the most interesting. I am working on th pictures still

QOTD. I have to agree that free shipping is pretty darn cool.

    Nice haircut….

On the friend thing…I am now linked up on twitter, facebook and corkd. I haven’t set up a myspace…I’ve decided that I am too late for that fad to set one up now.

We generally dodge whites but have recently been venturing into Burgundies and Sauternes. I will have to find the 2005 Ascheri Arneis…my wife is a big citrus fan. Thanks for the pointer.

I am a big fan of Rosenblum wines … but I never would have thought to try the black muscat. I’ll give it a whirl sometime.

    QOTD: No schwag yet…

The tannat and arneis are hard to find information about on my favorite grape glossaries. The tannat sounds really good!

QOTD: I like the NFL football with the Vaniac label on one side and your favorite NFL player’s autograph on the other. Woops! I peaked ahead at Friday’s big anouncement!!! Sorry, Gary, I didn’t mean to steal your thunder.
A wine glass with the Vaniac label would be the coolest.

Best schwag actually came from the SF Party…those wine glasses are killer. Wristbands are different and very entertaining especially when you break one out at a party in order to drink your wine.

Really enjoyed the espisode. I have never tried Tannat but probably will now. Wine continues to change to new world tastes and demand. Remember when you couldn’t approach a Barbaresco or Barolo for ten years?

QOTD: The wristband was cool, but I have to second (or third, or 100th) the ‘free shipping’ comment. I suppose that isn’t schwag, and it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with WLTV… but it’s WLTV that brings me to the site, and the free shipping that keeps me ordering.

  19. June 26, 2007

    Louisiana George

QOTD: hands down, free shipping is the coolest, as it allows me to try things i otherwise might not order, considering adding $30 per case can make an affordable wine unapproachable, without free shipping

Had Tannat from Virginia and not a fan but will have to try the Monterrey version. Never had a Arneis though. May try that as well. Muscats in orange and black are already on the shelves here. Every week one is opened.

Schwag…. free wristbands always great but the T-shirts especially the original Vayniac are still my favorites.

I’ve never had a Tannat but was talking with a friend about them just yesterday. I’ll definitely order a few from WL after your review.

    Gary,

Your production schedule is staggering. Do you post tasting notes from the episodes anywhere for those of us who don’t have the time to watch every episode?

    Gary,

Interesting show today, especially the first two wines, which I’ve never tried before.

QOTD: The wristband, of course. Love it with some business-type clothes when I’m lecturing at the University! The kids dig it too.

Your photo is coming soon, I just need to find the perfect location in Trier to shoot it. Probably will end up being the Weingarten at Palais Kesselstatt across from the Cathedral in Trier, because I’m imaginative like that. ;o)

QOTD GV, I rcvd the pickles t-shirt, yes, you’d thought I’d buy into the oak monster or the dead deer, but no, pickles says it all. btw, my wife thinks I’m nuts.

QOTD: Love the original WL t shirt. It has been a fun conversation piece, reminiscent of wine, but not in your face!
