Cool, I’m already a winner (but don’t let that deter you from voting) I got to work with my girls on this, my 16 yr old filmed edited and dedicated a lot of her time, the wife did whatever I asked (never thought I’d say that), my 20 year old did the chalkwork and tamed the wild beast, the cat did what she does best(scampered) and the dog, likewise, (out of frame) blissfully ignored it all.

I haven’t been able to load the video yet but from the comments I reckon there’s fierce competition. My approach was to exemplify being a Vayniac, I figure that’s what the focus of the contestg should be. From the clips I saw the other day, in retrospect, maybe I should’ve went with fancy special effects, T&A and over the top humor, but I’m more the subtle homegrown type and you know what Gary says about being yourself.

The Mr. Clean “glass” sliding on the car hood was pure syncronicity any similarity to the Ice Storm episode is purely coincidental. The brackish liquid is actually the die from the tshirt running, terroir is backroom sweatshop with a subtle petrol after taste.

Anyway, by some fluke if I happen to win and the offer is for two and mgmt can wing it I’m offering the second spot up to whomever comes in second in tribute to the Vaynernation.

MESSAGE FROM “WILLIAM”

No crass lobbying here – I just want to say how humbled I am at being included in the Final Four. What an honor, and a real surprise! My deepest thanks to the WLTV gang for gettng me this far, and to those who deem me worthy of a vote.

I must say I was unprepared for this new level of stress. When you enter a contest, it’s all just kind of fun, and then when you hit a certain level, it becomes — GULP! GASP!

Why I entered. Two reasons:
1. I had won a free T-shirt and 2 wrist-bands, and I felt kind of guilty. They were just sitting there in their plastic bags, in my closet, next to a pair of teeth….
2. My wife Susan is such a sweetie – she’s my honey, all right — and I’ve never taken her on a wine-tasting trip like this. She would love it so much, I want it to happen for her.

I’ve gone back and forth on this so many times. I’m just typing now and forcing myself to make a decision. The wine-covered fruit loops were a hoot, and (T&A aside) I really love the original lyrics and creativity of Vayniac. I laughed out loud at the deer & cherries in #4, plus it was cool to see a Vayniac doing his homework. It was great fun to see so many inside jokes in the Behind the Vlog video, and certainly a lot of work went into that. Sigh. . . I’ve typed and typed, and I’m still putting it off. You all were creative and funny. Each of you deserves a trip to Napa with Gary.

“Behind the Vlog” was very well done, but too much of a tribute.

“Taste Bud” was very clever, but only struck a single long note.

That leaves “Vayniac” as the winner. Not as slickly produced as the others, but I really liked Jen’s simple, open and honest expression of the fun she has with this wine stuff.

There’s been a few comments about Tim F having “inside” connections & “conflict of interests”. These comments have sited the Yearbook photo and the mock video clip of Gary shunning the Paparazzi.

This has nothing to do with any inside advantage. Rather it’s Tim being creative, thoughtful & resourceful. It also shows hhow long he’s been working on this. The video clip of Gary was taken from the Chicago party from a few months ago (per Tim F’s response above). For me, he deserves credit for being so clever!! and the same goes for the HS Yearbook photo. A genius idea based on his theme.

Again, people can vote for whomever they wish, but to not vote for Tim because of this assumed and incorrect reason is not right. Furthermore, I think it quite over-the-top for people to be insinuating these charges on to Tim here in the COMMENTS section which could obviously unfairly poison other folks voting. That just isn’t right!!!
