QOTD: …more on that contest…and the winner gets a wine tasting for X amount of people at their house. It could be a motivator to get them to leave a comment.

Great episode, nice to see that there are still some great values on some excellent tasting wines out there.

    QOTD: Stumped?

    what, no sassicaia?? haha!

great show…was REALLY excited for the cheese tasting part (honestly, cheese can do no wrong)…but then the dang video stopped working and started perpetually “loading.” Too bad. Maybe your site is just too popular right now!!! I’ll come back.

    Great Episode Gary

Tuscany is probably one of the areas of wine that I have explored the least, beyond that of Chianti and Chianti Classico. I definitely want to give that Altesino a try.

QOTD: I do like the idea of creating an intro for the show, that sounds cool and I am already stewing up some ideas. I will try and come up with an original contest idea.

Hi Gary, sorry I’m late, got thrown off the web-site last night and it still wasn’t back on by bed-time. Loved the Tuscans, I’m into Italian wine at the moment, and always into Cheese.

QOTD – not sure, can’t think of suggesting anything I’d have a chance of winning! The idea of a recurring intro for the show sounds interesting though.

    Hiya Gary :)

This is Serge, the musician from Montreal, writing to ya.
Great timing on this show , my friend, as me and the gf are leaving for Tuscany in two weeks, and since I shall be visiting wineries and indulging, every knowledgeable piece of advice helps,

Thanks and get a musical theme at the beginning and end of your damn show, hehe… (preferably mine, email me ),

have a great day, Gary V.

Gary Good show and good timing as my wife and I are going to Tuscany later this year. I also find that Italian wines alway are better with food.

Damn, I will be in Sonoma Sunday night Monday and Tuesday. Have tastings scheduled at Ramey and Rafenelli so far. Gary, have you tried Willi’s wine bar in Santa Rosa? There is a seafood version in Healdsburg as well. They do tapas and wine flights with the Santa Rosa one having all different types of tapas and the Healdsburg one obviously seafood tapas. Will be staying at the Applewood Inn in Guerneville.Prefer Sonoma tasting rooms because the charge less and pour more.
Thanks for the Super Tuscan tastings. So far I haven’t seen the value lately as the prices tend to be so high for good quality.

Flash games… throwing dodge balls in a china shop while riding a bull!

Seriously, I think random winners picked based off comments is best because it encourages participation without requiring the ability to make your own video or music production. You could get one entry for each day (to prevent excessive spamming) that you post a comment. Simple lottery each week/month that gives everyone a chance to win and encourage being a part of the community without being obsessed with being the first poster or the biggest butt-kisser.

Oh, and GV… where is the bobble-head love for NC State great Jerricho Cotchery?!

Loved it, good subject to touch on, I’ve been wanting to try out some Super T’s so this will help a great deal. Thanks GV.

QOTD: Skeet shooting contest using 2 Buck Chuck.

What about a ‘design the next WLTV T-Shirt’ contest? A fan-designed shirt that later becomes available to the community would be really cool!

Being uppity with uneducated wine people is a practice that should be punishable by death. I work at what I think is one fo the best value wine stores in the state of CT. I love wine, and love changing the way people see and think of wine. To hell with the pretention, and on with the education without intimidation!!!

    GV,

Great episode again. I love Tuscan and especially Super Tuscan wines. I was hoping you were going to taste the Oreno that Wine Access did such a tremendous job marketing.

QOTD: I still like the idea of homemade wine. It’s such a blast to make, especially when you make such a small batch that its more efficient to just get in the bin and stomp the grapes with you feet. Talk about fungus…

    Ciao

GREAT rant today, Gary! I am proud to be a part of the new wine revolution right along side you and others in the business.

As a winemaker, I would long the home wine contest, but it is better to do during the fall when it is cooler and safer to ship wines. A make a wine label contest for WLTV would be cool as well, since it get away from the Videos a little and let other people participate.

Great ep, Gary. It’s always nice to get a little more background on the super Tuscans.

On your Napa trip, I’d love to have you come by our winery where we practice New World meets Old World winemaking. That goes for the rest of the Vayner-nation, by the way.

QOTD: How ’bout best “changing the wine world story” to riff off the email that you received?

    Cheers to all!

    knudwig

    Great show.

How about doing a “relay” of wines. Take your favourite wine from this episode and try it again tomorrow agains 3 other wines from the same district, grape, price, year or whatever theme you come up with. Then do the same thing again, keep your favourite.

How long can a wine last? And who knows where it will take you.
